Do fetuses go to heaven?

What would a 30 second old fetus think of heaven?

No. A fetus is not a breathing, human being.

Didn't lawyers for a Catholic Hospital just win a case using the law that says a fetus isn't a person?
What if the homeless person is holding their breath? Seriously, you have reservations against late term abortions. They aren't breathing either.

Don't know. Religion has nothing to do with this for me.

Would the fetus get a harp and a hymn book?

Let me ask you this: Do you believe everyone should have full control over thier reproductive rights?
If by "reproductive rights" you mean abortion... no, because they are not just affecting themselves.

Is there a huge difference between 179 and 180 days?
I never plan on trying to change anyones mind on here. But for me, it's compassion. The life that most of those aborted babies would go on to live are full of unnecessary hardships. For the most part, they will be born into single parent homes, many with a high school education at best.

50% of women getting abortions are under 25 yrs old. 69% are black. The number of women getting abortions that live below the poverty line is 4 times the number of those that are above it. Why do that to a child? If it came down to aborting or saving your wifes life, which would you choose?

Oh lord, holding their breath? You must have a more intelligent comment than "holding their breath"?

I'm guessing, and taking a shot in the dark, but the fact that you have children is partly the reason you are Pro-Life. Am I right?

That's some compassion.

Abortion in extreme cases such as saving the life of the mother is an entirely different discussion. If you'd like to go down that road, we can. But let's stick to the first one.

No. I've been pro-life for as long as I can remember. Too many inconsistancies in the pro-abortion arguement for me.

Maybe I should have been more clear with the "seriously" part. That was intended to mean that the previous statement was not serious.

I disagree, either you are against abortion or you aren't. You can't be against something, but if XYZ happens then I approve.

It's a concession. One life for another. But again, a different discussion. Please stick to the 98%, run of the mill abortions.

Oh, the spontaneous abortions that happen all the time and the mother doesn't even know she's pregnant?

Those far outnumber the clinic procedures. Chances are highly likely your wife has experienced numerous spontaneous abortions. All our wives and girlfriends have.

Would you tell a woman who was upset that she has a miscarriage at 12 weeks that she wasn't really pregnant?

Can you give me an exact day that a person becomes an acceptable collateral damage statistic (not a "person"...or a "living being") from a Predator drone strike?

Can you give me an exact day that a person becomes a bad enough enemy, as decided by Obama, to warrant death by a bomb (and normal people won't be able to see the evidence used to decide who dies)?

Can you give me an exact definition of which people which we will supply with weapons to kill other people, many of whom have committed no crime against us?

Most assuredly not...but you are OK with those killing because they are a necessary evil. Oh, and the word "war" is used to put those deaths in context. :suspicious:

In that case, abortions are just casualties of another kind of war. Pick your choice...poverty...addiction, teenage angst...war du jour.

If you think that by fighting a war you will actually save more lives in the long term, then there is no inconsistency in being pro-life and pro-war. No one gets an abortion to try and protect other people from the possibility that their offspring will turn out to be a psychotic killer or mass murderer.

I don't get it, though. Your point appears to be that living life poor or suffering or hardship is a life not worth living. Why should it matter if the baby is out of the womb or in the womb then? The cognitive difference between a baby just before birth and just after birth is pretty negligible - in both cases they are human beings with little cognitive skills or understanding. Under your position why should we not simply euthanize babies born into poverty or other hardship right at birth and save them the trouble of living a life you have deemed unworthy to be experienced?
