IMO, Al Jazeera English is 100x better, and more unbiased, than any of the major news networks in America. Al Jazeera Arabic on the other hand is terrible and deserves its reputation. It's kinda like CNN International which is generally pretty good, and then CNN which is complete crap.

Time Warner Cable did not consent to the sale. As soon as the deal was announced, TWC released this brief and terse statement: “We are removing the service as quickly as possible.”

Of the 40 million homes serviced by Current TV, TWC accounted for 12 million. Al Jazeera is already screwed and they haven't owned the channel for even 24 hours.

I assume he means Al Jazeera English since he used the AJE abbreviation. There are different Al Jazeera's and they are very different in terms of how they present the news - just like their American counterparts, they tailor the news for their audience.

They were also very good and objective in Iraq.

Like the time they were broadcasting that the Americans in the Al Sadeer Hotel were all CIA (actually police trainers and instructors) which of course led to the March 2005 truck bombing by Zarqawi and his tribe of left hand asswipers. The same AJE that had a camera crew next door in the Swan Lake hotel, filming the security entrance to the Al Sadeer every day until the Kurd guards finally went out to "disappear" them.

Yeah that AJE is a real top notch crew.
