Joe, I have an AR, an AK, other long rifles, shotguns, handguns in all sorts of calibers.

The AR-15 platform has one of the easiest magazine changes in the world of weapons. You literally hit a button with your trigger finger allowing the empty mag to drop while you're simultaneously grabbing the next mag with your non-shooting hand. I could have you switching mags in under three seconds if you wanted to spend five minutes practicing. Mag size wouldn't make one lick of difference.

There is no "bill" that is going to solve that problem that doesn't address mental health. I have a Springfield Armory 9mm, with a magazine that holds 19 rounds. I can put four more magazines in my back pocket meaning I can carry almost 100 rounds of ammunition AND the weapon undetected. I can empty a 19-round magazine in about 30 seconds fairly accurately and change magazines in less than 5 seconds. Thus, I could fire almost 100 rounds of ammo in less than 3 minutes.

The toothpaste is out of the tube. There's no getting it back INTO the tube. They need to address two major issues:

1) mental health care in this country
2) the media's need to make these assholes famous

Sportscasts stopped showing streakers so as not to give them any "attention" and encourage their behavior. These sick bastards get hours, days, even WEEKS of news coverage after their actions, their names are known nation-wide...until we get over our sick need to know every twisted detail of these fucks' lives, this will get MORE, not less frequent.

I haven't read the bitch's bill, but I would have to assume "no", since she's going after "assault" weapons. And I don't care if the magazine is limited to 5, 8, 10 or 12 rounds. Same principle applies. In rapid-fire competition while part of the Navy pistol team, I cold fire 5 rounds, change magazines and fire five more rounds in 10 seconds flat, and you could cover the group at 25 yards with the palm of your hand. The shit just ain't that hard to get proficient at. I'm living proof of it.
