All that may well be true. But it doesn't give NBC the right to do what they did in misreporting the facts and convienently leaving out parts of the 911 tapes.

Questions:

1) Are 911 operators actually police officers? Do they have command power or are they simply people in a staff/commmunication role? I know that in Delaware, at least as of about 15 years ago, the police actually specifically told me that a 911 operator was NOT a member of the police force.

2) If Zimmerman was simply following Trayvon, why is Trayvon allowed to beat up Zimmerman? Is that part of the black "man code"? If a black person was following an Hispanic person, and suspicious of his actions, is the Hispanic person allowed to just beat up the black person or can the black person claim self-defense?

3) If a person is beating your head into the ground, are you allowed to shoot him to stop the assault?

4) Are you a full-time racist, or do you take off for the holidays?

Why is that funny? Regardless of your feelings, he probably won't get a fair trial. This event has had so much media attention that any juror that gets selected will have had over a year to create a bias or idea of guilt. In my mind, he should have listened to the police and stayed in his car. His actions most likely provoked Trayvon.

We don't know what happened other than Zimmerman followed Trayvon, a fight occured and Zimmerman killed Trayvon. Was he taunting him? What caused Trayvon to stop and turn. Was he attacked or did he initiated the attack. Either way, Zimmerman was advised to stay away and he didn't. If someone is following me, I'm going to avoid and evade. I won't attack until I feel threatened. Knowing how kids are punks these days (and how immature teens are) I don't think it's crazy to suggest that Trayvon decided to confront Zimmerman. Are Zimmermans wounds because he was attacked or because he attacked and startled a kid who was walking alone, in the dark, minding his own business and decided to fight back?

My sister in law was a 911 dispatch during her college summer breaks. Hardly a police officer. New Jersey though.

Since 2008...

The new requirements include 911 dispatchers taking 232 hours of classroom instruction and being tested to become certified to answer calls. Certification may be renewed by completing 20 hours of training every two years.
