How can anyone think GSU will gain more than 100 yards rushing, let-alone 100 yards TOTAL when they play in the weak ass So Con and are going up against a Defense that will have 6 or 7 drafted in the first 2 rounds to the NFL???
NDSU really is the best thing since sliced bread. One of the best jobs in the world is being the operator of the Fargo sewage treatment plant, because, 1.) It's warm, and 2.) Their shit doesn't stink.

We'll see come friday.
Do yourself a favor and watch the first half of the ODU game.
If you think Swope isn't just as physical and tough as EB, you'll find out soon enough.
I do think the Wofford guy was more physical than Swope is. Not that Swope isn't strong and physical. Just not the same kind of back. Last year Swope had a decent day against NDSU (96 yards on 23 carries). The guy from Wofford did a little better than that yesterday (136 yards on 24 carries). But the main thing I think I saw in the guy from Wofford is that Wofford just about always gains something when he gets the ball. He always gets at least 3 or 4 yards. Or at least almost always. Even if he got hit clean at the line of scrimmage he would drag people 3 or 4 yards so Wofford was hardly ever in 2nd in 10 or 2nd and 9. Maybe someone could look at the play by play and say I got the wrong impression but that was my impression.
Aside from that: I think we need to give credit where credit is due with respect to NDSU's defense. Over the past two years that defense has been consistently dominant against every style of offense it's faced. Especially in the playoffs. When it comes to option offenses the bottom line is that it held Georgia Southern to 7 points last year and shut Wofford's offense out yesterday. And when it played a different style of option offense in Sam Houston State in last year's championship game it held it to two field goals.
It's a very, very good defense. One of the best that's ever taken the field at the I-AA/FCS level. I mean, heck, the numbers speak for themselves. Right now it's at 207 yards and 11 points for game this year against a solid schedule. The one game they lost this year was one in which the other team's offense only accounted for 3 points and 197 total yards.

I did watch the 1st half and EB is a lot more physical. Plus is a better RB all-around.
GSU played Wofford too, and they rushed for 221 in the game. EB had a 65 yard run and a total of 102 for the game. Other than the long run where GSU flat missed an assignment, EB had 37 yards on 12 carries on the night. Wofford kicked three FG for their 9 points. Swope had 137 yards and two TD on the night. EB weighs 225 and Swope is at 221. Swope is faster and the GSU scheme and how they use him is totally different from the straight ahead dive that Wofford employs. I think you'll find that Swope is very physical when he needs to be.

Please Baldy don't tell me to watch what any offense does against ODU and expect me to be impressed. They might have one of the most pathetic defenses a top 4 seeded team has ever had.
That said, I know Swope is a great player and you can point to other games.
Over 400 easily. Facing Wofford last week will be a detriment to the Bison's D. Wofford runs the option, but it is night and day from GSU's. McKinnon is playing better than anyone in the country right now, and Swope is going to gash the middle. GSU 35-10

Swope a true frosh last year and EB a 5th year senior. Hmm.

LOL......
400 and 35-10
Never happen.
NDSU has given up 17 TDs this year, GSU 34. I think the Bison will be fine.

I'm surprised he didn't say over 900 yards and 70 points.
After careful statistical analysis, I have concluded that the people rooting for NDSU think that NDSU will do well in this game and the people rooting for GSU think that GSU will do well in this game.

I have seen Swope on TV a number of times; last year and this year. I have only seen the Wofford guy play once. To me the Wofford guy looks harder to tackle. Of course part of that is that he was playing against the NDSU defense. I know those guys can tackle. I mean...man...North Dakota State's defense has given up a total of THREE touchdowns in SIX playoff games over the past two seasons. Maybe next week all of a sudden they'll get burned. But based on what's happened so far over the past two years a person has got to say they look AWFULLY good. And that Wofford guy gave them more problems than I've seen anybody give them during that time frame. And yes I've watched at least portions of all of those playoff games.

I agree. I think NDSU's vulnerability is in their offense. I actually like their style but it can be controlled. Anything can happen. For all we know Georgia Southern might win 50-0. Stranger things have happened and the unpredictability of college football is part of its attraction. But I sure don't EXPECT to see any FCS offense run wild on NDSU's defense, I'd expect that if NDSU does give up a lot of points it's going to be because the offense turns the ball over and either gives up defensive TDs to the other team or repeatedly puts the defense in very bad position.

Heard all the same stuff last year and all the same stuff last week. I don't care how many yards they get last year they got one TD, and last week Wofford had 0 offensive TD's.
We can sit here and talk about it all we want, but we all know what's going to happen Friday*

I think so too but maybe for a different reason. NDSU's defense only averages about 25 minutes/game on the field.
You matter. Unless you multiply yourself by c squared. Then you energy.

Fair assessment.
If Jensen starts throwing INTs, we will lose. Giving GSU short fields will not be good. IMO, our best defense on friday will be the offense's ability to stay on the field. Keep that TO off the field.
GSU can be passed on and the Bison need to take advantage of that. A loud dome will also help.

Even against a great NDSU defense I expect the Eagles to rush for at least 300 yards. The question is rather they can score TD's once they get in the red zone as Wofford could not. They sure as hell can't depend on kicking fieldgoals! Alot depends on how many fumbles the Eagles cough up. It they play a clean game they certainly have a chance. If they are minus 2 on turnovers they are done.
Go Eagles! (threw up in my mouth alittle on that one)
Not many teams have even put up 250 total yards on NDSU this season. The TO will move the ball and rack up yards but it will come down to scoring Touchdowns. GSU is the only team to score a single offensive TD on NDSU in their last FIVE playoff games. I can see GSU getting into the endzone once or twice in this game but I think the first team to 17 will win.
