Well, I haven't been in one in years....

"Biden goes to Costco after executives cozy up to the White House

Vice President Joe Biden made a surprise visit to Costco this morning for the warehouse store’s grand opening in Washington D.C.

According to the White House the Vice President was greeted at Costco by CEO Craig Jelinek and co-founder Jim Sinegal.

The visit is the latest sign of the friendly relationship Costco leaders have with Obama as they have publicly supported Obama’s economic agenda.

Sinegal, Costco’s former CEO, gave a speech praising President Obama at the Democratic National Convention in September.

Sinegal retired as CEO in January, but gradually took a greater interest in Obama’s re-election campaign.

Sinegal hosted a fundraiser for Obama in July at his Seattle area mansion at Hunt’s Point. Tickets for the event ranged from $5,000 to $35,000 and reportedly raised more than $1.4 million.

Sinegal also defended Obama’s record on small business, after the Romney campaign’s ads featuring Obama’s “You didn’t build that” remarks........"

There's a Sams in Billings where we go to Costco, been there, it is not even close, Sam's is nothing but Walmart with bigger packages. Kirkland (store brand at Costco) kicks total ass, Walmart has no answer for it.

They are also way behind the curve on running a hypermarket, which Costco figured out years ago.

The only think good that I have bought with the Kirkland brand name is garbage bags. Fresh food and bulk food are about the same at each in my area. We generally go to Costco a couple times a year anymore, Sam's once every couple years if that. My local stores are more convenient and prices are reasonable due to competition.

Pays workers great
Low turnover
Low CEO pay
Has happy employees
Has happy customers.

I can see why you don't like them. Costco will be better without you. And will smell better as well.

Never been to a Sam's Club..and if it attracts the same kind of people that WalMart does, then, "no thanks".

We were Costco members, but we've got two BJs (one by the sailing club and one near our home)...and frankly, you just can't beat multiple BJs.

I think Costco is a good place to shop, but for the everyday things BJs seems to have better prices and it's just more convenient (BJ's takes MC and VISA)...and Costco is in the damn Christiana Mall (always a traffic nightmare). :ohno:

I do recall Costco having a better selection of alcohol, but State Line Liquors and Total Wine and Liquor take care of that for me.

BJs has also really picked up on a lot of organic items at great prices in the last two years (our local co-op really can't come close to matching the prices). Still, we visit the co-op (they have a great selection and also host the local farmer's market in their parking lot during the spring-fall), ACME, and BJs for our shopping.
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

Costco shits all over Sam's. It's not even fair to try and compare Sam's to Costco.

Sorry, I don't really care about the debate of Organic Chemical and man-made chemical raised foods. I'm not saying Costco is bad and Sam's is good (same with Organic chemical vs Man-made chemical), as most of you are taking this. I'm saying they are very similar. If it's that important to you that Costco is better than Sam's then more power to you.
