MSNBC, Fox coverage "extreme" during election

Post by ASUG8 »

"In the final week of the campaign, both Fox News and MSNBC became even more extreme in how they differed from the rest of the press in coverage of the two candidates," said the Pew Research Center about this portion of the study's findings.

"Fox News was much more positive about (Mitt) Romney than the press as a whole and substantially more negative about (President Barack) Obama. MSNBC was even more overwhelmingly negative about Romney and offered mostly positive coverage about Obama."
.....as reported by CNN.

Actually both networks in the days before the election were virtually unwatchable. Both networks should have been ashamed of themselves - just the outright lies & propaganda that both networks displayed - the PR minister for Iraq from the Gulf War was more credible than Fox News & MSNBC.... :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno: :ohno:

I watch "Morning Joe" when I work out and sometimes Chuck Todd right after him. "Morning Joe" is right leaning centrist and Chuck Todd is straight down the middle. BTW, Mark Halprin has to be the biggest Douchebag on T.V. unless Donny Deutche happens to be on. :ohno:

Chris Matthews leans left, but he's still pretty fair about things on his show.

But yes, MSNBC's evening line up is definitely pro-Dem, especially Ed Schultz. Pretty much unwatchable.

Ed Shultz is a slightly more round Dem version of Bill O'Rielly. The guy offers nothing of value on his show. However, it is more watchable than "Politics Nation" with Al Sharpton. Seriously, MSNBC, WTF?

Throw Andrea Mitchell in there too. She's as lefty as they come. I find Chuck Todd to be a bit left also, especially recently when he said (about the Benghazi/Petraeus situation): “…they do believe they’re a little insulated here, because Petraeus isn’t considered an Obama guy. If anything, he’s more of a Republican guy at the end of the day.”

Mitchell and Todd are both corporate media centrists. I don't see how that quote indicates partisanship. BTW, do you know who Andrea Mitchell is married to? :ohno:

Also agree with Mounty on Sharpton. He was always way to the left, but at least mildly entertaining before he got a show.

"Corporate Media Centrist" = Left-Wing douchebag.

Who Andrea Mitchell is married to really doesn't mean anything. Look at what Mary Matalin married.

I know who she's married to, but what difference does that make? Greenspan can be obviously Republican if he wants but I expect a little more objectivity from a Senior White House Correspondent having her "reporting" beamed into millions of homes nightly. I watch NBC most nights, but my perspective is that she leans pretty hard left. :ohno:

As for the quote, you don't find it a little odd that Todd turns into something of an apologist regarding a guy Obama appointed to office and says Petraeus isn't really not an Obama guy?

I actually found myself watching more CNN for this thread's exact reason. But there is no WAY Matthews is even remotely centrist.

This can't be true, he cheated on his wife with a woman. We all know male Republican politicians have affairs with other men.

Did I get that right, Dems?

Who cares which direction someone tends towards (BFD)
Do they have any good ideas..? Are they taking in all the information and at least trying to present an argument based on real data...

Exactly, that's why uber-conk George Will is one of my favorite columnists.

CNN seemed to be leaning pretty left for a while there, but they've gotten a lot closer toward center the last few months...still center-left however. IMO though, PBS has the most center, no-frills news shows.

It does, but paranoid conk dorks still try to dismiss it as left-wing propaganda.

So clueless. Big Bird panders to the 47% of lazy Americans that sit on their ass all day, collect welfare checks, government cheese and watch TV. We've subsidized entertainment.

Here is the facts folks..

"Conks" only recognize Fox as a real and trusty news source, and most never ever venture outside of it even for a minute.

Also, to "conks" all other, and I do mean ALL OTHER news organizations are liberal, commie, bastions of the long time secret plot to turn our country into a 1950s vintage socialist communist dictatorship, and in fact about 47% of them say it has already happened. :dunce:

Because only visiting the one source of news that panders to one's particular political taste tends to have you hear only what you want to hear it is easy to be blind sided by election results from time to time, that is what happened to the Republican partisans this time, they believed their own spin to the point even the candidates were shocked at the outcome. :dunce:

Anyone who was following Real Clear Politics on the polls and trends were not surprised at the outcome, apparently Mitt, Paul, all those asshats at Fox news and our local 12 or so uberconks here did not ever consider that source.

Apparently they considered that site as liberal, because they did not agree with their math.

Math and Science, the new Republican stumbling blocks.

As long as you have a Dem roundtable like this one led by Soledad O'Brien I'll have some issues with CNN's objectivity. Sorry, but I don't know how to embed this vid:
