EWU turning the ball over three straight times in the first qtr made it way closer than it should have been. Almost a complete disaster. PSU played tough, although I do take issue with all the chop-blocks and holding they do. Thankfully it started getting called towards the end of the game. Anyway, yes, Co-Big Sky Champs.

With a Poly win who gets the auto-bid?

We had a net 0 yard rushing, but 4 rushing TDs. Has that ever happened?

463 yards passing.

Good win for EWU. We had shots to put it away, just couldn't get it done. Padron is a super passer, some of those passes he threw were right on, even in the rain (a couple were pretty lucky as well, ). I did not realize we did as well as we did defending the run, we still need to find some players to defend the pass however, without the penalties. I don't understand what the thing is with platooning the quarterbacks, I thought Padron was clearly the better one (I've actually thought that throughout the season, not just this game). Eagles should do well representing the conference in the playoffs. They are tough. :thumb:

Padron would've done great if he had been the starter all season, IMO. But Adams threat to run and make plays out of nothing is likely what got him the starts and playing time that he did... it opens up the passing game that much more when defenses have to keep an extra guy in the box to spy Adams. Congrats to PSU despite the loss... they always find a way to take it to us. Not to make excuses, but I don't think it would be close if it hadn't been raining. We really shot ourselves in the foot with the turnovers in the 1st quarter.

Actually I was surprised as how much slippage was going on with both teams. The field is a professional soccer field and is supposed to hold up in all conditions. Also, it was raining but not near as much rain as we can get in Portland (and not as much as they were forecasting). Without the rain, our all-league kicker would probably have not missed those two field goals and botched the extra point (although I'm thinking your snapper would not have tried to hit the MAC either in the first quarter). It might have stayed close, but a moot point. It was raining and it was a mess. (I'd give the field a D for football in the rain).

Nope, you are co-champs. The only thing beating MSU got you was the autobid. Co-champs title is based on conference win loss record, of which multiple teams had the same record.

EWU is still the best team in the Big Sky.

Is it me or did EWU seem to have a better fan presence at the game? From TV it sounded like there was more EWU cheering and more people on the EWU side..

Of course MSU is technically co-champs, but when two of the three co-champs lost to the other, we all know who the real Champ is. And it certainly isn't MSU's gay mascot. ;)

It wasn't just you. From the shots of the crowd, there appeared to be 2-3 times more EWU fans. There are a lot of Alums in PGE.
