But I agree, that raising revenue some is only a fraction of what needs to be done in Washington. There needs to be much more substantial work on spending in EVERY department. The GOP has to realize that the DOD budget is bloated as well, along with probably every other federal department.

IIRC, for the average middle class family the income tax is almost 25% with another 13% in Medicare and SS of their paycheck. Someone want to check that?

Two kids, one small mortgage and the 37% was post-401k contribution. I've paid more in taxes this year than I made my first three years out of college combined.
