GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Furman football will face its first Big Ten Conference foe in program history in 2016 when the Paladins take on Michigan State, director of athletics Dr. Gary Clark announced today.
The game, scheduled for Sept. 17 at Spartan Stadium, gives Furman four games against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents over the next four seasons. The Paladins are also scheduled to play LSU (2013), South Carolina (2014), and Virginia Tech (2015) during that span.

If you beat The BellHops, and Appalachian gets the autobid, I'll run any avatar you wish (or, at a minimum, remove the current display
B. In the event of a three-way tie, the won-loss records of the tied teams against each other is first considered (i.e., head to head concept). If the teams are still tied, then each team’s record against the highest seeded team not involved in the tie is considered.
The Woffle . . . . . . . 6-2
The Convicts . . . . . . 6-2
The Hillbillys . . . . . . 6-2
(4) Chattanooga . . . . . 5-3 (with W v. Elon - wins over Sam & El Cid)
(5) Samford . . . . . . . . 5-3 (beat The Woffle and El Cid)
(6) The Citadel . . . . . . 5-3 ... 4-4 (beat both The Convicts & The Hillbillys)
(7) The Vermin . . . . . . 2-6 ... 3-5 (beat Elon)
That means The Sparkle City Woffle win the autobid, which sucks, since they are the clear winner in the tie-breaker.
UNLESS the wise and prescient leaders of the Southern Conference decree The Woffle out of the tie-breaker because of their loss to Samford, thereby resulting in Appalachian winning the autobid because of their victory at The Stink.
I think that is reasonable.
