1) Do you think the GOP will move back toward the center?
2) Do you think the GOP SHOULD move back toward the center?
There could be a battle a brewin'.

What is funny is the fact that the platform, once through the primary, didn't quickly move to the center for the POTUS campaign. If the candidate is far right during the primary, and moves towards the center in the campaign, it's not like he will lose the votes from the right wingers. He would still be right of the Dem. They have no choice but to vote for him. The vote will be for the lesser of two evils.kalm wrote:The Republicans fail to re-gain the White House or take control of congress, lose some congressional seats due to incumbents being primaried by the Tea Party, and several key progressive initiatives win ballot approval in the states.

Hmmm...he sounds like a Libertarian.Ibanez wrote:Former Ohio Sen. LaTourette (R) was on CNN today lamenting how the Tea Party was "crap" and how moderate Republicans left long ago. His cure, "stop dissing Latino's, get out of peoples bedrooms and their lives."
Sounds like a good start.

I agree to some extent. I'd rather be voting for shades of grey somewhere in the center vs. black/white. The Tea Party will diminish and the OWS folks will likely fall by the wayside as well (especially since they really never had an agenda to begin withChizzang wrote:Face it

And that we need to be in the middle of every other country's military business

truth ^death dealer wrote:I predict that the democrats will take this slim victory as some sort of mandate for their hair brained notions and swing too far to the left oissing off the moderate independents, and the republicans will moderate their crazy bullshit long enough to win back the whitehouse and maybe even the senate, then do exactly the same stupid shit they did last time, and so on, and so on, ad infinitum.
I'd love to see some huge mitigation of the influence of lobbyists and superpac's. Spending $2B+ on two candidates for one job paying <$500k/yr is pretty stupid in my mind. TTBF would likely disagree since that's his bread and butter, but campaign finance reform needs to be addressed.death dealer wrote:I predict that the democrats will take this slim victory as some sort of mandate for their hair brained notions and swing too far to the left oissing off the moderate independents, and the republicans will moderate their crazy bullshit long enough to win back the whitehouse and maybe even the senate, then do exactly the same stupid shit they did last time, and so on, and so on, ad infinitum.

Seriously, that sounds like the Democrats.Libertarians don't care who you sleep with or who you marry
Libertarians understand the phrase "Government shall honor no Religion"
Libertarians tend to believe that 700 billion might be a few hundred billion too high (Pentagon)
Libertarians aren't waging a war on logic and science

Not really.Seahawks08 wrote:Seriously, that sounds like the Democrats.Libertarians don't care who you sleep with or who you marry

You don't have to be any religion to know that abortion is wrong and it in no way is "standing in between us and our doctors". BTW, who were you including in the "us" Mr Man?Chizzang wrote:If Republicans ever want to get any kind of significant number of women voters89Hen wrote:![]()
