NDSU vs SIU
Interesting match-up for the Bison. SIU/NDSU games have been close games since NDSU has joined the Valley.
Will this game be the same?
SIU runs a 3-4 on defense, which has given NDSU trouble in the past. NDSU has 2 RFR on the O-line this year; so it will be interesting to see if Bubba runs some blitzes from different angles at them. SIU has some good D-lineman so the Bison better be ready for their pressure. The SIU defense has been very opportunistic this year. I'm looking forward to watching them tomorrow.
SIU's offense has been inconsistent this year. Can the Bison defense shut them down? With the way the Bison defense has been playing this year, I do not think the SIU offense can move the ball consistently against them.
It will come down to the Bison offense and their ability to move the chains and finish drives. The Bison offense will probably have some trouble against this defense but if they continue with what has been working for them I see a good offensive day from them. If the SIU defense creates some turnovers and plays good field position, it could be a long game for the Bison.
In the end the Bison defense is too good for SIU.
Bison win 31-9

Good luck NDSU, SIU has the best front four in the NCAA. Simply amazing.

Looking forward to see how our O-Line matches up against them. The Bison have a pretty good front 4 on defense so it will be interesting to see how they match-up talent wise with the SIU bunch.
With how well the Bison defense has been playing, I do not see a mediocre offense doing much of anything against them. Indiana State's offense is much better and they managed less than 200 yds and only 3 points.
Both of NDSU's RBs are healthy and the #2 WR is coming back this week.....should help the Bison O.
Hopefully the students come out in full force. I guess they haven't claimed their full share of tickets.

Re: NDSU vs SIU
Great game today in the FD.
Very impressed with SIU's special teams play and very opportunistic defense. Lennon sure does have some good special teams units this year.
Bison offense held the ball for over 40 minutes in this game. The offensive line also did a very good job going against SIU's 3-4 scheme.
Hats off to the Bison defense that held SIU to 11 yards rushing and a 177 total yards.
Tough Valley win.
Now on the road to Missouri State.

Re: NDSU vs SIU
I watched some of that game yesterday as it was on TV here. I hadn't heard anything about SIU's front four being good until I read this thread. I'd have to say that the front four I was impressed with yesterday was North Dakota State's. If you'd have just asked me who I thought had the better front four, me not knowing SIU's is supposed to be really good, I'd have said North Dakota State. The Bison have a pretty good front 4
Well, I believe that I must tell the truth
And say things as they really are
But if I told the truth and nothing but the truth
Could I ever be a star?

Yes they are better.
NDSU rotates 5 players at DT and 5-6 at DE.....very good depth. SIU's D-line is good but NDSU's O-line was just better yesterday.
It will be interesting to see if houndawg still thinks SIU's Dline is still better.

SIU doesn't have a front four, so you can add parroting to the list of things you don't do well.SeattleGriz wrote:I actually don't know, just parroting what I heard houndawg say a couple of weeks ago.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:

Re: NDSU vs SIU
I didn't see the game, been out in CA for ten days. The stats sure favor NDSU and clearly they are deeper, but I believe that SIU's front 3 would get plenty pt if they were on the Bison squad. Sounds like the game went exactly as I predicted - SIU giving NDSU all they can handle until the defense was gassed. The Bison d doesn't have to spend 40 minutes on the field because the offense can't get any first downs. That's been a theme all year for the dawgs. Great game by NDSU, hats off to them.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:JohnStOnge wrote:
