So...you're then implying that the Griz have lost all of their games this year to inferior teams. Call me nuts but that seems to speak even worse of your team. You're blinded by maroon glasses if you can't see talent on Southern Utah's, NAU's, UND's or Appalachian State's squads.uofmman1122 wrote: I hope it turns out that way, but beating the Griz in a down year doesn't mean the other teams have risen up. EWU did in 2010, but that's it so far.
The BSC will get four teams in this year. If at least two don't make the quarterfinal round, that argument goes right out the window.
Sorry, but that's just how it has to go this year. Blame us and EWU for setting the bar so high.
I think the Big Sky gets four teams into the playoffs. Two lose their first or second round game. Two teams make it at least to the quarterfinals.
I don't blame the Griz and Eagles programs for setting the bar high...I thank you for it. This is motivating other Big Sky teams to start to step up to the plate.

Oceanvue - Sorry to hear you say you plan to jump ship when your kid finishes up. Hope your son doesn't quit being a fan when he's finishes up. I don't mean to be an ass but it's possible to pay attention to more than one team at a time.

The question is: When Bauman leaves, will you be right back to the 5-6, 6-5 team you've ALWAYS been? Or will you stay moderately relevant like EWU has?mtjack wrote:So...you're then implying that the Griz have lost all of their games this year to inferior teams. Re: Take a Picture, Griz Haters...
Okay guys, seriously. Thanks for putting words in my mouth that I never said.
The rest of the big sky is good this year. Better than Montana. You got me.
But really, until the big sky other than Montana and EWU dominates in the playoffs, saying things like "the big sky is just....soooooo much better this year. You Griz fans are just mad" doesn't really mean anything.
Like I said, if at least two big sky teams don't make the quarters, then no. No it isn't.
I DESPERATELY want the other big sky teams to demolish the other conferences in the playoffs. I love this conference. I hope one of us wins the championship this year, even if it's MSU (and even though typing that makes me throw up a little).

Replacing a Zach Bauman at running back is like replacing a Dave Dickenson at quarterback...those types of players dont' come along often. So....probably a return to medioctrity but you never know. NAU has been much worse than 5-6/6-5 for NAU football a lot of years and has also made the playoffs or finished in the top third of the Big Sky conference a few times since the 90s. It's significantly more rare than the Griz or Bobcats but that doesn't mean they can be erased from the record.AZGrizFan wrote: The question is: When Bauman leaves, will you be right back to the 5-6, 6-5 team you've ALWAYS been? Previous history gets teams on tv and convinces a few recruits to go there. But previous history doesn't get wins on the field this season. This years NAU team seems not to be bridled by past performances and that has allowed em to win games that past teams lost. It's not last season right now. It's not next season right now. It's this season and I'm having a blast through this all while remembering not to take it for granted. Caught three games, plan to catch one more regular season game and will drive up the mountain in a blizzard to see a home playoff game should it materialize.

Yeah, I guess. Big Sky conference boards are fun but it's cool to hear from fans all over the country here. That and it's more likely a debate can have a bit of substance and doesn't turn into a pissing match here.Grizalltheway wrote: Well, this place would be pretty ****' boring if no one did that, now wouldn't it?

In all seriousness, I think both could be happening. Sac, NAU, and Poly all have talent to knock off FBS teams and SUU wins at WGS and has a shot in the end zone to beat the Cats. Sprinkle in UND with a convincing win at SAC, and I'd say the conference is definitely up.uofmman1122 wrote:Okay guys, seriously. Thanks for putting words in my mouth that I never said.

Hopefully we get more than just a couple playoff home games and your bar might be met.
Then again I said the Griz were still a playoff team after we played them so what the fuck do I know?
