The way things are going, I'd say all 3 of those teams...
No kidding. ISU got throttled by UNC so I say the Griz win that one, however, Weber just beat SUU on the road. Griz could easily lose that one an If McGhee can throw MSU could beat Montana by 3 scores in Missoula....
I'd like to be as optimistic as you are concerning the game with ISU, but I just can't be.
If I was the OC at ISU, Weber, or MSU, knowing I have a game coming up against the Griz in the near future, regardless of the venue, I'd be a very happy person!

Idaho State is terrible at home and pathetic on the road. Jump on them early and they will all want to head home halfway through the second quarter.

Obviously I am not an OC, but when you say he is best suited to a pro-style, it makes me think of a mechanic who says they can only work on Fords. Like working on a Honda or a Saab is too different for them.
No disrespect to you Ranger, but the guy gets paid good money to be an offensive coordinator AND, he should be able to develop our inexperienced QB's as a former pro. We all expected him to bring more passing to the offense.
If he isn't good at running a spread offense, then why was he hired? I realize he had connections to Pflu, so maybe we hired the wrong guy. Once again, not trying to be a dick, especially since I know he has forgotten more about football than I could ever hope to know. Just thinking out loud.
In all fairness to the guy, the Griz are averaging 30.9 points a game. Not exactly sucking. Just bummed that when we really need to get some points, they seem to lay an egg.
I agree that he should be able to adapt. I just think that if you're an OC and all of your experience has been with a pro-style offense, it's going to take a while to do it. This isn't "his" offense, after all - it's Pflugrad's. Much like the Dodge mechanic who changes jobs and starts working on VW's, to use your analogy.
Also, I would venture to say that the problems with this year's version of the Griz extends beyond the offense. Namely, the secondary can't stop anything. In hindsight, it would have been wise for EWU to start Padron in our game and throw on every down. We probably would have had much better success in that game with the receivers we have.
Like I said before, Pflugrad was the offense. Smith (when he was here) didn't really call the plays, and I don't think Pflu expected Rosie to, either.
I think Rosie was added to help improve the passing attack of the offense, not run the whole thing. At this point, it's kind of obvious, looking back on the results. Once they get away from what's working, or the other team starts stopping them, they have no idea what to do.
If they're all around next year, it'll be interesting to see how much the O changes. It might be very different.

There were many Montana fans that made proclamations like this. I made a few posts saying that what happened was a big deal, and they would be in real trouble, and I was told over and over again that I was wrong.

You have to realize that Montana has had 5 head coaches over the last 16 years. Almost a new coach every 3 years. We are used to losing OC's and DC's and even head coaches and bouncing back. That is why the majority of us expected there to be some issues like in 2010, but not this bad, especially when we promoted from within.

Well, they don't HAVE to realize it, I guess.

No wonder they're so full of hate
I've always though the sign of a good fan is being there through both the good times and the bad. Griz fans haven't had to deal with adversity in what seems like decades and it's a trying endeavor for them so far in 2012.
Re: your "hate" comment...meh! Any football fan with half a brain knows that the Griz program is a benefit to the Big Sky Conference overall. I have heaps of respect for UM football. I don't feel the least bit dirty saying that. Humility in both winning and losing seems tough for a few internet Griz fans but don't speak for a whole fanbase. A few Big Sky conference programs finally woke up and have started putting better teams on the field. Isn't parity what Griz fans have been asking for for years?

I hope it turns out that way, but beating the Griz in a down year doesn't mean the other teams have risen up. EWU did in 2010, but that's it so far.
The BSC will get four teams in this year. If at least two don't make the quarterfinal round, that argument goes right out the window.
Sorry, but that's just how it has to go this year. Blame us and EWU for setting the bar so high.

So again, you are giving no credit to the teams you have lost too - teams can't be better, it has to be because Montana sucks.

Other Big Sky teams have certainly improved, but I agree with 1122 that the playoffs is when we'll find out exactly how much.
