Hypothetical-- Savannah State v. Rhode Island

Post by LDopaPDX »

Who wins?

I think Savannah State's high powered offense (7 total TDs this season, 5 in one game against NC Central) might just be too much for the Rams (only 5 TDs this season). However, if it comes down to PATs, Savannah State is barely making 50%, only 4/7.

I'd have to say the loser of this game might have the label of "worst DI team in the country" applied to them, even though the likes of Valpo, Davidson, and Austin Peay might want to challenge for that same title.

A tossup between Valparaiso and Savannah State.

Unfortunately, I think we gotta throw Grambling in this mix as well. They are 0-6/0-5 on the season so far, and it hasn't been pretty. They've even been pasted by Prairie View, the gold standard for suckitude in football. Fortunately for Grambling, they have inept USCAA Virginia University of Lynchburg (1-5)next week. That's right, VUL isn't even NAIA. I didn't think there was anything lower. VUL has lost to D-II Ohio-Dominican 57-6, FCS NC A&T 40-7, D-II UNC Pembroke 30-7, USCAA Concordia-Selma 20-7, and D-III Wesley 24-7. Their only win came against USCAA Southern Virginia 19-16, the only time the Dragons got more than a TD all year. Grambling MIGHT actually get a win here....

Savannah State can burn in hell.

(I know, as it turns out, UNI has had bigger problems that have knocked them out of playoff contention besides having to resort to scheduling a D2 at the last minute. but still, the shit that Savannah pulled wasn't cool)

And yet, our resident jihadist was trying to defend ODU racking up decent numbers against them. :ohno:

Apparently, the Unites States Collegiate Athletic Association is an association of "small colleges" (mainly Christian colleges, which I thought was the basis of the NAIA) out to "level the playing field" for small colleges. I didn't even know anything below NAIA existed. They even go to two divisions for hoops.

Mainly concentrated along the Eastern seaboard, the USCAA features such "famous" institutions of higher learning as Alice Lloyd College (Pippa Passes, KY), Albany Collge of Pharmacy (Albany, NY), Christendom College (Fort Royal, VA), and Pacifica University (Moreno Valley, CA).

http://www.theuscaa.com/landing/index

They put "the" in their URL to distinguish themselves from the United States CORPORATE Athletic Association, of which I had no idea existed, either.

Yup.

Getting busted on by 50+ at NDSU nonwithstanding...(because NDSU would probably do the same at home to 80% of the teams in FCS)

They have come a LONG way from where they were in the early 2000s. They're on the right track. :thumb:
