The reason we have Consulates in any given country is so US citizens can easily find them. Every Consulate and Embassy on Earth has an easy to find address and phone number.. except for this one apparently.

Also, the way the internet indexes information, it takes a long time for search results for something like a consulate to be de-indexed from the internet, and there would be no reason to remove the information after the fact anyway, the alleged attack has already happened.

It's funny, when the reports first came out- they kept saying it was an Embassy attack.. people said.. wait a second, there isn't an Embassy in Benghazi, so they changed the story to "It was a consulate attack." Since that point in time, google maps has added the "US consulate" on their map.. but they don't provide an address. There isn't an address or phone number anywhere- the satellite of the area looks like a private compound surrounded by an orchard.

You are incorrect on so many points it is hard to know where to begin.

We most definitely did have an interest section in Benghazi. The media doesn't know it's head from its a$$, which is why they call it everything under the sun. An interest section is merely a presence post. In some cases they eventually become consulates or consulates general. Benghazi was a presence post. The exact location was not published publicly for reasons that should be obvious, the biggest one being that it was a lock and leave facility that was not even fully up and running yet.

Since you are such a sleuth, how about look on that list and tell us about the DoS presence in Da Nang, Vietnam? You can't do it, because it isn't on the list, so it must not exist, correct?

Here's another one: how about tell us all where the US Embassy in Havana, Cuba is? If CNN reported on an incident there, they would call it an embassy.

Also, your first statement about consulates is wrong, also. The presence if a US Consulate has nothing to do with ease of location for US citizens. Consulates are located in cities outside the capitals where there is heavy demand for visa and citizen services.
