frinq: All I'm basing my pick on is that I trust Burton. I'm loyal to my teammates. That includes him, the StL Rams special teams coordinator, and (well, not teammate, but position coach) the OC at North Texas.

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

Re: Big Sky Predictions - 9/22
No arguments here, seems like a coin flip. I haven't had a chance to see much of either team this season and it sounds like PSU seems to be struggling more at this point. A PSU win would by no means surprise me.frinq wrote:SD and Super - I would diffidently suggest that the PSU-SUU game is at least a 50-50 no-call. Yeah, our defense has a very large question mark. Don't see how firing the DC last week will help much, but I figure Burton will at least pull them into line. Our true freshman QB is actually better than average. Scores will be high.

Re: Big Sky Predictions - 9/22
A Bison fan actually picks UND to win a game?!? I'm shocked!!!
I know you're not the two long gone NDSU trolls, NW. It's just that your rivalry is so heated (like ANY rivalry should be) that for most fans, your two favorite teams are NDSU and whoever plays UND. It's good to see some objectivity. Naturally, as the good homer that I am, I disagree with you. But it is good to see objectivity nonetheless. Particularly since it is so often lacking in myself.

If you hated Nebraska as much as you hate EWU, you would've chosen ISU, wouldn't you?
And you wonder why people don't respect you.

I'm kicking myself right now... in the Big Sky Challenge Pick'em, I originally picked NAU, but then waffled because of the Griz being at home and how strong their run D seemed against inferior RBs.

6-1 for the week, 36-5 for the year. Should've been perfect, though. I've been listening too much to Griz fans about their record against NAU. I'm old enough to remember when they said the same things about Montana State.JALMOND wrote:30-4 so far, having not picked any of our FBS upsets. I feel comfortable with the ISU/Nebraska game so maybe perfection is this week. Here are the predictions for 9-22. All my opinion only.
EWU at WSU---The Eagles had a week to get ready for conference play. The Wildcats played McNeese State rather tough at home. However, the Eagles may be better...EWU 31, WSU 17.
ISU at Nebraska---First time since 1982 that the Big Sky has beaten FBS/DI-A four times in a season. Can the Bengals make it five? That would probably be the most impressive win all year...Nebraska 52, ISU 21.
UND at Sac State---The Dakotans came to California (San Diego State) last week and almost pulled off the upset. The Hornets seemed to struggle most of the game against Northern Colorado. If they do that this game, they could be in trouble...UND 35, Sac State 28.
NAU at UM---The return of Souers to Missoula. The Lumberjacks have not beaten the Grizzlies anywhere in the last 14 tries (or so), but some think this may be their year. Maybe so, if the game was in Flagstaff. Missoula, a different story...UM 28, NAU 24.
UNC at MSU---The Bears had some good moments on the road at Sacramento State last week while the Bobcats have been doing just enough, rallying in the fourth quarter of their last two games. It would be interesting if they had to do that here...MSU 31, UNC 21.
SUU at PSU---The Vikings defense seems to wilt under the pressure from a poised quarterback and the Thunderbirds have that. The Thunderbirds defense kept DII New Mexico Highlands in the game before the offense bailed them out. A shootout for sure...SUU 42, PSU 35.
UCD at CP---The Mustangs are coming off of a splendid performance at FBS Wyoming last week. The Aggies are coming off of a splendid performance at South Dakota State last week, at least on defense. The offense is another story...CP 24, UCD 14.

Sac State screwed it up for me and NAU pulls it out (glad they did).EWURanger wrote:NAU @ Montana - The Jacks never win in Missoula.
UNC @ MSU - Could be closer than some think, but UNC doesn't have enough of an offense to win this one.
SUU @ PSU - PSU hasn't shown enough to make me thing they will win this game.
UND @ Sac State - I'll give Sac the nod since they are home, but this could go either way.
EWU @ Weber State - Homer pick, but I think we will win this game.
UCD @ Cal Poly - Home team wins.
ISU @ Nebraska -![]()

Congrats on the win Darell and other UND fans. Had Safron not shit down his leg the whole game this would have been a close one. Our defense did an excellent job at slowing down your potent offense and kept us in it until late in the 3rd. Best of luck the rest of the way. If you guys can find a defense UND will have a hell of a season.

It wouldn't surprise me if UND won all 5, but I am thinking 3-2, win the home games and lose on the road. Should be good enough for a playoff look.Darell1976 wrote:UND better find it quick our next 5 games are brutal.SDHornet wrote:Congrats on the win Darell and other UND fans. Re: Big Sky Predictions - 9/22
Based on what, exactly? Those are probably the top 5 in the conference right now - I would be extremely impressed if anyone in the country could go 5-0 through that stretch, let alone UND. Not saying it's impossible, but extremely improbable.Gil Dobie wrote:It wouldn't surprise me if UND won all 5, but I am thinking 3-2, win the home games and lose on the road. Exactly. I'd be shocked if the UNDers won more than two of those, and one seems more likely. NoDak is giving up almost 200 ypg rushing, and that doesn't bode well against the above teams other than EWU.EWURanger wrote:Based on what, exactly? As of right now I think EWU, MSU, UND, NAU, and Cal Poly are all playing better than the Griz. The way we're playing, we might even lose to SUU.EWURanger wrote:Those are probably the top 5 in the conference right now
Re: Big Sky Predictions - 9/22
Maybe, but SUU's D can't stop anyone...it will be tough for them to stop the UM running game, IMO. Even without a solid passing game, UM will still win 5-6 conference games with their o-line and backs. Just hope one of those isn't next week. Save it for MSU, etc.uofmman1122 wrote:As of right now I think EWU, MSU, UND, NAU, and Cal Poly are all playing better than the Griz. Yeah, thanks to Adams. Your running backs only averaged about 3.5 ypc, though. And Weber's defense gives up 237.Screamin_Eagle174 wrote:We put up over 200 rushing against Weber.Mvemjsunpx wrote:

So would it not follow, that if UND is giving up 200 ypg on the ground, that EWU will try to take advantage by running the ball more and using Adams a fair amount, like we did against WSU?Mvemjsunpx wrote:Yeah, thanks to Adams.
