Ya...
He lives in a dirt patch frying pan called hell on earth
Seattle just had 95 consecutive sunny days between 75 & 88 degrees - and will now have 30 more days of sunny and 70 degrees
In the winter it won't drop below 35 degrees but 7 to 10 days total all winter
averaging about 45 degrees / perfect mountain biking trail weather

The economy is strong
The food is world class and diverse
The outdoor fun is year round unmatched / lakes / rivers / mountains / The Puget sound / Mount Rainer / World class Skiing / World Class hiking and Biking / top 10 ranked scuba diving
On lake Sammamish where I live we have all day / 22 pairs of mating Bald Eagles / common River otters that frequent our dock / Trout / Salmon / Osprey / Red Tail / Snow Geese / Swans

and I live 10 minutes from Down Town Seattle...
So, Seattle has ONE year where they don't get their normal amount of rain and suddenly it's paradise. Jesus, you're easily impressed. 98% of the time, in a normal year, you're doing ALL those things in the rain.

No thanks.

I read somewhere once that Seattle gets less annual rainfall than NewYork or DesMoines. June-October is pretty nice. Not Eastern Washington nice but nice.

To be fair, days of sunshine per year is a better gauge than annual rainfall. Like Z said, it's the winter gloom that bothers most people.

I thought the weather was about the best I have ever seen on the Northwest coast when my folks lived there, but apparently visiting during the late August salmon run every year and visiting for Christmas every other year did not properly expose me to the dreary drippys sufficiently.

When we moved them back home, I spent an entire week out there in early March in a drippy dreary cloud. Rain varied to pounding on the metal roof to a constant drizzle, it sucked.

Now, the number of inches of rain varies a lot up and down the coast, take Forks, Wa for instance, 120" average but if you happen to go by there on a sunny day, it is the most beautiful rain forest anywhere.

Sequim on the other hand is on the north end of the Olympic Peninsula and says they only see about 15" a year, Sequim seems to be the most popular retirement community in Washington.

Cleets is right, when the sun shines the air is clean, the foliage is awesome, and there are damn few bugs flying around, just have to look out for slugs where you are stepping.

I think we can all agree that Minnesota has the worst weather on the planet. Hot, humid and buggy in the summer, cold as fuck and snowy in the winter, without so much as an ass pimple to ski on. :ohno:
