In Viola, Arkansas, a debate is heating up, after a student had his peanut butter and jelly sandwich confiscated at lunchtime. The school has a no-peanut-products policy due to a few students with allergies, so the teacher helped the little boy get a new lunch and sent home a note explaining the situation to his mom.

Yet I have severe dog/cat induced asthma and airlines insist on allowing pets in the cabin........and I'm the one that has to move if they are next to me (even if I purchased the ticket first).

There are disabilities and then there are disabilities. I don't think airlines should have to accomodate fat bodies who can take the bacon Popsicles out if their mouths. Some if these hogs are pushing for fatty seats or the ability to two seats for one fare. Bullish!t. It takes twice as much gas to haul your 400 pound girlfriend around. If anything the airlines should charge extra anyway.

The big and tall sizes are more expensive for a reason.

Now, I draw the line at the kids. I don't care what you feed your kid, that's your business. But little kids don't know any better, and if there's a kid with peanut allergies around he's eventually going to have an incident with the PB&J sammies. We don't allow kids to play with any number of hazardous materials in schools. At the very least the elementary schools should control the food that is being thrown around in the lunchroom.

I'm libertarian about most things but when it comes to the little rug rats I will SH!t down your neck to give them all a fair shake and that includes the ones who will die if you give them a little peanut butter. When they get older, then fine, let the other kids wallow on the floor in peanut butter at lunchtime for all I care, by the allergic kids have enough sense to take their own precautions.

If you drink and travel, it can get a bit pricey! We had a layover in Chicago, and spent our time in the Blackhawks bar. Beers there were $7, there was six of us, and our tab came to around $150!

All the drinks on this trip seemed to be in the $7 range, and I still don't know WTF is up with that!??!

The mini-bottles of alcohol on our flights were $7, and ALPHA, being the kind and generous person he is, paid for mine! Probably the greatest alcoholic drink I've ever had was the 190 Tiger in Greenville, SC, and it was $6.95...but worth every penny!

Other than the $7 shots of Jager, and the $7 beers, I thought the prices were about right.

So what? You only drink ONE anyway. Cheap bastard don't every carry $7 in your wallet? WTF?

My usual MO is to only drink one, maybe two, while at a Griz home game...I'll give you that one. But, on our recent trip to Greenville/Boone, I stepped many miles out of character!

I was traveling with "The Standard That Others are Measured By in Alcohol Consumption" group. Ask ANY one of those guys if they drank more than me on this trip. I'll give you a hint on their answer...as hard as it is to believe, it didn't happen!

I haven't flown in a long time, so I didn't realize that the only form of payment that's accepted on United flights were credit cards. Before I could get to mine, ALPHA had his at the ready, and paid for what had to be the worst Bloody Mary I've ever had.

You're right again, I wasn't carrying $7 in my "Bad Mother Fucker" wallet, it was closer to $2200. I came home with $18 in said wallet...$7 of which will go to ALPHA, if he would return even one of my phone calls!

Am I cheap? No! Am I a drinker? Well, from the 5th through the 8th of September, I can hang my hat on the fact that I hung with a few of the very best!

We were sitting in the City Tavern in Greenville, SC, and everyone was hungry. We all placed our orders, and most everyone's food arrive, and by saying "most everyone's", I mean all but mine!??! I was pissed, and thought: How fuckin' hard is it to get 3 Sliders to the oldest guy in this group of legendary drinkers?

The sliders never got to me, and ALPHA saw this massive injustice. He then proceeded to share his club sandwich with me!

This isn't accommodating people with physical disabilities.

Accommodating kids with a food allergy would be making sure to provide alternative meals that are peanut free. I'm cool with that.

Forcing all the kids in the entire school to not eat peanuts... isn't accommodation. It would be more analogous to forcing everyone to use a wheelchair to "accommodate" the disabled kid in the wheelchair.

The last time I checked, people with food allergies aren't in a protected class.
However, I don't see any reason schools can't make reasonable accommodations for kids who have allergies. Totally banning peanuts isn't reasonable. The onus ultimately falls on the parents and kids themselves.

Except for the fact that neither of you understand peanut allergies.
