Part of telling the truth is truthfully expressing your opinions. There are many, many things which cannot be known with absolute certainty. But when someone asks you about them. you can either tell them what you really think or you can provide an answer in consideration of what the "acceptable" opinion on the subject is.

An awful lot of people will avoid saying what they really think in order to provide an answer that conforms to the "acceptable" way of looking at things. I don't.

In the real world, there may be times when I just stay silent. The reality is that we can be penalized for our opinions. But if I do say something, I'm going to say something I believe to be true. I'm not going to say something I do not believe to be true just because that's the "acceptable" thing to say.

Conservatives think we are on the Left and the Left hates us because they think we are on the Right. The Left/Right paradigm is a false dichotomy. There are ideologies that transcend the two dominant contemporary American political narratives.

Sorry, Bubba, but as a long-time Libertarian and libertarian, I can tell you that we are not liberal. Conservatives think we are on the Left and the Left hates us because they think we are on the Right. The Left/Right paradigm is a false dichotomy. There are libertarians of all bents, I know because I count myself as one. My brother and I are on different sides of the spectrum but we still fall into the libertarian classification.

Here is why a correction was in order: IPUMS data show that today, the nation's 12.7 million black men 18 years old and older make up 5.5 percent of the adult population in the U.S., and the 76.4 million white men in the same age range make up 32.7 percent. According to the 2010 census, 1.2 million black male college students make up 5.5 percent of all college students, while the 5.6 million white male students make up 27 percent (or should we say "just" 27 percent?)
