Has anybody ever seen reliable third party verified statistics on how many abortions there are where the pregnancy was caused by rape or incest? Gosh, it has got to be in the tens nationally, right? I've certainly never heard of one.

Methinks this is nothing more than yet another election year strawman used as a talking point to inflame either base and deflect attention away from the real issues.

There are a few Conks on here whose wives/SO's I've met. Only a couple of them could bitch slap their CS hubbies (Baldy's wife is one of them - a very strong gal) whereas the rest of them, like Mrs Hen and Mrs Hogan, have their votes beat into them, either by them or by the parish priest.

There are about 200,000 sexual assaults per year in the US. Bout 25-30% of college age women will be be sexually assaulted.

That statistic is probably about right. At least in my own experience.

I handled a lot of rapes in Charleston. The toughest ones to prosecute are the college girl victims. The assaults are usually the "pushy drunk" types, rather than the kind that most people envision, i.e.: the stranger with a knife in a dark alley. A lot of these young women are embarrassed and that's one of the reasons for the low reporting rate. In many cases, they even know their attacker.

Every now and then (pretty much in line with the percentage D put up), a woman will prosecute. You build as best a case as you can, but 100% of the time the guy's attorney attacks the victim, and they have a high success rate. They attack the inebriated state of the victim (how can you remember this or that when you were admittedly trashed?) and they paint them as scorned women as well. Usually these cases wind up pleading down to lesser charges because prosecutors just don't push the cases. Usually it is due to a lack of evidence/witnesses. I have seen some pretty nasty cases of criminal sexual assault get pled down to simple assault and there wasn't SH!t I could do about it.

I used to see these girls on Friday nights in Charleston, half wasted out of their minds, walking around King Street. We even offered escorts, the CofC public safety did too, but they rarely took advantage of them. Used to drive me crazy. Just like the people who would leave valuables visible inside their cars... they are just crime stats waiting to happen. I hate to sound like I'm blaming the women, but there's a potential sexual predator in every drunk college aged male, and that's a reality.

4. Own your political and religious thoughts as well as the actions of the leaders you support. In this case, both privately approve of violence against abortion clinics, women and women's rights. Your church continues a 2000 year old tradition of brutal repression and vilification of women. Don't think for a second the women in your circle aint aware of this.
