Most Surprising Result: Murray St. 20, (#25) Central Arkansas 42 - The Hatch Attack needs to find some balance, because 66 pass attempts and 67 rushing yards probably aren't going to cut it.

Worst Performance: Bryant 28, St. Francis (PA) 39 - The Bulldogs continue to trash all the progress they've made since moving up as they allow two 100-yard rushers to the perennial NEC basement.

Most Surprising Result: (#14) New Hampshire 7, (FBS) Minnesota 44 - The Wildcats suffer their worst play-up loss since they began playing I-A/FBS games in 2002.

Best Performance: Coastal Carolina 47, Furman 45 (3OT) - The Chants get a big road win a game that had 6 overtime touchdowns, a PAT intercepted & returned for a 2-point conversion, and three scores in the final 2 minutes of regulation.

Worst Performance: Charleston Southern 10, Jacksonville 31 - 4 turnovers give the Buccaneers no chance at avoiding their 10th. consecutive FCS loss.

Most Surprising Result: Liberty 24, Norfolk St. 31 - Allowing 251 rushing yards to Norfolk State is not a good way to set up a trip to Missoula.

MEAC

DSU 14-38 UD
MORG 34-56 BUFF
HOW 0-26 RUT
ODU 45-7 HAMP
NFOLK 31-24 LIB

Worst Performance: NC Central 14, Elon 34 - It was an admirable performance by the defense, but 115 yards and 4 turnovers by the offense provided no hope of an Eagle win.

Most Surprising Result: Norfolk St. 31, Liberty 24 - The Spartans shut out the Liberty offense & get 2 non-offensive touchdowns in the second half.

SoCon

WCU 24-52 MARSH

    vs. FCS: 2-2
    Overall: 5-2

Best Performance: The Citadel 23, (#3) Georgia Southern 21 - Despite being outgunned & outgained, the Bulldogs beat GSU for just the 5th. time in 22 meetings.

Worst Performance: Furman 45, Coastal Carolina 47 (3OT) - Paladins start 0-2 for the first time since 1995.

Most Surprising Result: (#3) Georgia Southern 21, The Citadel 23 - Two 100-yard rushers aren't enough to avoid a SoCon-shaking upset.

* - I know Georgia State is still technically in the CAA this year, but I'm counting them as FBS and as a non-conference opponent for CAA teams (same as UMass last season).

Tomorrow: what's left of the non-playoff conferences.
