USD @ Griz Game Thread

Holy crap!!!

34 1st downs.....98 plays and 568 yards....wow!!!

When I saw the score I thought it might have been close but not with those stats.

Yeah....It was a weird game to watch.

We moved it at will, but it never really felt like we were going crazy. Like I said in the summer, though, our running game is going to be damn good this year. Hopefully McKinney can keep it up and improve in the long passing game in the next few weeks like JJ did last year.

As for USD, they were gift wrapped about 17 points in this one that killed our momentum:
- Their only long drive sustained by a big penalty.
- Their first field goal was after our punt returner muffed the punt and gave it back to them at our 20 yard-line.
- Our WR should have caught the ball, but it went through his hands, up into the air, and returned for a pick-6.

Not making excuses. USD took advantage of those situations, but apart from that we pretty much manhandled them in all phases of the game.

Yep, they straight up burned us on their long TD pass, though. Secondary will need to step it up against better quality opponents.

The Griz were clearly the better team and clearly dominated the statistical battle. The Yotes obviously took advantage of the Montana mistakes. But take away the trick play Montana scored on and then the back to back turnovers on the next 2 USD possessions, and maybe somehow the Yotes would have escaped Wa-Griz with a W.

Or take away the muffed punt, the long TD pass and the pick six and the Yotes wouldn't have scored more than 10.

Probably 10th for USD.

Ill State
Ind State
NDSU

These teams are definitley the top tier.

If UNI beats both YSU and NDSU right away in the conference schedule, they will win it this year.

Man, the Valley is going to be a frickin battle.
