Predict the FCS-FBS upsets of 9/8

Post by bonarae »

Possible games for 9/8 (my predictions for upsets are in bold):

UNH at Minnesota
Maine at Boston College
Illinois State at Eastern Michigan
Southern Illinois at Miami Ohio
Austin Peay at Virginia Tech
Weber State at BYU
Southern Utah at Cal Berkeley
Sacremento State at Colorado
Eastern Washington at Washington State
Missouri State at Louisville
Howard at Rutgers
Georgia State at Tennessee
Morgan State at Buffalo
Savannah State at Florida State
Western Carolina at Marshall
NDSU at Colorado State
Presbyterian at Georgia Tech
Texas Southern at North Texas
UT Martin at Northern Illinois
Florida A&M at Oklahoma
Grambling at TCU
Eastern Illinois at Western Michigan
UC Davis at San Jose State
Stephen F. Austin at SMU
Northern Arizona at UNLV
Nicholls State at South Alabama
All the Ivy League needs to become relevant again is to diversify its OOC schedule.

Colorado State beat Colorado today. I'm guessing they'll handle NDSU as well.

Colorado is likely worse than NDSU, though. CU & CSU have both sucked for a while now.

UNH @ Minnesota, ISU @ EMU, and NDSU & Colorado State are all plausible. I also picked UC Davis to upset SJSU in my preseason picks, but I'm not so sure after the Spartans' surprisingly strong showing against Stanford Thursday.

EWU could beat Wazzu, but I'd be surprised. BYU is quite a bit better than the Eagles.

I don't see EIU beating Western Michigan. The Panthers looked surprisingly good against Southern Illinois, but they were still 2-9 last year and the Broncos are far from the worst the MAC's got.

I picked NAU to upset UNLV in the preseason, but Thursday's loss was an unmitigated disaster for the 'Jacks. If Bauman can't go, they don't have much of a shot.

CSU's offense is horrible and defense is our strength. CSU's front 7 on defense are not too bad so we'll see how our offense does. NDSU can run and pass effectively.

I'll be surprised if NDSU loses this game.

EWU and Ill State have a good shot also.
