Those jobs are a thing of the past. That's part of the problem, we've got a population of functional retards who can't/won't be able to fulfill the duties/skills needed in the modern workplace. Abortions should be free for morons and the lazy (hell, make it mandatory), and college/training (and I'm not talking about women's studies or craft studies, etc.) and supportive services (healthcare, etc.) should be free to the achiever class. Race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. are all lousy bullshit ways to divide up a culture. There are way more stupid lazy white trash than ghetto trash in this country. A much better class system should be based upon work ethic, intelligence, desire to achieve. We should be making it easy for people to move up if they have the desire and ability.
A country that dabbled in eugenics, Germany, already basically does this with their school system. :coffee:

And they are doing quite well. They just don't go far enough. Still carrying/compensating for cultural guilt over their collective past. Plus the dabbling you speak of was based on some of the prior biases that I have mentioned. That kind of system is doomed to fail. You can't punish underachievers enough to make them want to do better. But you can design the system so that it is too hard for them to spread their faulty genome, while making it easy and actual encouraging for intelligent/over-achievers to do so.

Thanks Baldy. But I'm probably way too liberal for you on some subjects. But, I've said for a long time that we need a real third party alternative in this country. And none of the current ones can fill the void (too much baggage). We need all the blue dogs and RINO's to band together and take all the folks in the middle, who hold their noses and vote for the putzes the two current parties put forward every year, and take this country back from the extremists. We need a Common Sense Party.
You would be surprised.
There is a reason I don't post in any threads regarding religion, abortion (unless its to point out someone's hypocrisy), drug legalization, homos, etc. but I still wanna punch a hippie in the face. The problem isn't the gene pool. The problem is that our idiotic education policy is based on the ludicrous idea that every f***ing kid is a potential orthopedic surgeon or physicist (think "no child left behind"). We need to stop pretending like there is some kind of virtue in having the highest percentage of college graduates in the world, especially when you have more people with degrees in multicultural white guilt studies than the economy has use for. Some folks NEED to be going to technical colleges.

But of course that will never happen because it's meeeeeeeeeeeean to say that technical college is a better option for some students and that it's better than borrowing $40,000 for a useless degree.

Where I differ from the typical libertarian is on the subjects of personal liberty/free will and social engineering. I believe in the first, but with caveats/limitations and I very much believe the second is necessary for a healthy robust society to thrive long term. I believe that capitalism is the only system that has proven sustainable but that pure personal interest is dangerous and ultimately destructive.

I figured you and I were pretty close to the same politically. I was surprised at first when my survey put me most in line with the Stein chick. But the more I thought about it the more sense it made.

Yeah, my Republican hating aside (I don't really hate anyone) I can best be summed up as a cynic. And I become more cynical toward the Democrats by the day.

Where the hell is Cleetzang? I think he fits this mold fairly well, also.

I like the idea of the Common Sense party but you guys are going to need to be tolerant of raging fiscal hawks like me if you want my vote. Oh, and stay away from my porn. Oh, and a little nuke reactor in every town, too. Ask D about that one I gave him a long drunken lecture on it.

I think fiscal responsibility is good common sense, but if by fiscal hawk you mean spend no money, collect no funds then we won't see eye to eye. Someone has to govern, that takes money, and governing is far more than making sure no one messes with anyone else's shit. There are duties that only the government is going to fulfill, they cost money, and you have to raise enough funds to pay for them. Does that mean you have to pay more for it than it would draw on the open market? No. But you have to pay for it. Libraries, museums, public parks....all would not exist w/o public funds, none necessarily directly benefit business, all make for a richer culture and better quality of life. These are very poor examples I realize. A military is another.

Agreed!

Common sense, at least defined by The relative success of every other OECD nation would call for a single payer, universal basic system where you remove the unnecessary and expensive layer of for-profit insurance. The wealthy can buy supplemental insurance if they choose to on the open market.

That's a step in the right direction. I'd go a little farther in refining the system to guard against fraud and waste. But we'll have to euthanize all the assholes that start screaming about rationing and death panels.

Absolutely, remove the unnecessary and expensive layer of for profit insurance and replace it with a much more burdensome, exponentially more expensive, and most unnecessary layer of federal government. Oh, and putting a federal bureaucrat between a patient and their doctor is always an outstanding idea. :thumb:

First order of Business: Today Congress functions as a Union
Get elected once and have free healthcare and money rolling in for LIFE / That has to STOP (period)
Rule Number One: Once you're out of Politics you're on your own - in the world YOU built
No extended Benefits (period)

Rule Number 2:
Demolish the Worlds worst Education System
Just completely SHIT CAN IT
The Worlds lowest performing Education System in the Industrialized world has FAILED (period)
Time to Re-set

3) Get the Federal Government out of Peoples Lives business / Guns / Women's Healthcare / Religion / OUT
No Religious Holidays / No Religious symbols / No Nothing
12 days off a year beyond the Weekend / The first Monday of every month is a federal holiday (period) Done

4) Reduce the 800 foreign Military bases to 400 in 10 years
5) Reduce Pentagon Budget by 50% in 10 years - we'd still have the worlds largest military by almost 200%

6) Privatize the Post Office / United States Postal Service / Gone
7) Privatize the TSA / Gone / Monitor performance criteria of TSA
8) Develop a 3 year plan to abolish the Federal Reserve Act

9) Create a Jobs act attached to an infrastructure act / that puts people to work on State Infrastructure projects if they can't find a job / including all the now former military employee's / as the military is 50% smaller

I don't know who Paul Ryan is...
All I know is the socially retarded Republican party is a total loss and too intricately bound to the Military and sucking up to Fundamentalists and waging a war on Women, common sense and Science simultaneously

The Democrats are too connected to Wall Street while pretending it's actually the Republicans who are (wrong) and The Liberals (of which I count myself) are too dedicated to supporting Unions and Bad business practices (period) to run a government like a proper business

Neither Party Spends less
Neither Party Tells the truth
Neither Party cares about this country

I kinda hate them all... There's more but I'll stop now
So Who's Paul Ryan..?
