So help me out here - you can't "advance" a muffed punt, but is running the punt back the wrong way technically "advancing" the ball?

I was too pissed at the time this happened last night to truly enjoy it.

That play was hysterical - ESPN showed it last night & they were like "why are you tackling him??!!"

It was quite hysterical. I still laugh every time I watch it. The play though was called dead, because you cannot "advance" a muffed punt. Obviously the KSU guy didn't advance it, but rather retreated it. I am amazed at how much confusion developed on both side of the ball on that play.

Another thing that was hysterical is watching the KSU player talk smack afterwards.
