So the GOP wants to enforce the laws currently on the books.... OH THE HORROR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, internet porn SHOULD be harder to access. Parents should be able to feel secure that a child can't type "pussy" or "dick" into a search engine and be able to see images unfit for their eyes at a certain age. That's reasonable... this is about protecting children and families, not about taking away your precious fuck movies.

C'mon guys, you should be better than that.

There are plenty of private sector "net nanny" services that would protect little johnny and suzy from being dick rolled. Why does it take federal legislation for parents to make sure their kids are "safely" browsing.

For a party that screams about being for "less government, more FREEDOM", the current crop of GOP'ers sure like to legislate "morality" into society.

Do they work? Seems like as soon as one side figures out how to block it, the other figures out how to open the door again.

Agree.

CAA Flag - that's the worst, copout reason to vote for Romney. And it's also the reason the GOP (& DNC on the other side) gets away with floating such crappy candidates every 4 years. Voting for either of the major parties and expecting anthing to change is more of a wasted vote. The parties are banking on persons with this mentality (vote against the other side) enabling not to have to come up with solutions of their own. Any educated person voting for Romney or Obama for no other reason than they don't lke the other guy is an enabler to our current state of politics in this country. Leave that cowardly mentality to the uneducated, yellow dog Dems & Reps. There's plenty of them as it is.

If you like Romeny for his policies, great. But if you are only voting for him because he's not Obama, well....we get the govenrment we deserve.....

I hear what you are saying, but I can't risk that approach in Virginia this year. This is a flip of the coin state and I'm not going to risk another 4 years of Obama because I want to send a message to the GOP for foating another crappy candidate. During the next 4 years, I want to see a Conk in the White House and a Conk controlled Congress. After that, I can live with a Donk controlled Congress for a while to provide some balance. This ship has to get on the right course and quickly.

Fair enough. But, when Romney re-directs resources from the War on Obesity to the War on Pornography instead of re-directing back to taxpayers, don't say I didn't warn you....

Yeah, fiscal responsibility is a difficult concept to grasp. Households and companies that spend more than they make eventually have to make difficult choices in order to keep from going the way of the dinosaur. Keep the cops, get rid of a few dozen czars and their minions to fund it. Crazy concept, but you can have a functioning government infrastructure that builds roads and bridges, provides police and fire service, and doesn't have an overwhelming need to get their collective tentacles into every aspect of our lives. :coffee:

So tell me: if the two major parties have been going to hell in a handbasket, off the ideological rails, for half a century, why hasn't the "Great American Middle" risen up and formed the Great American Sensible Party (GASP)? And the Libertarians are no GASP. I think it's a combination of money, apathy and a strong 2-party tradition.
