I liked the part in the article that said something about the two reporters running off giggling they had captured a sound bite. You kind of lose any shred of objectivity when you include that in your article. Unfortunately the link is dead so I can't get the exact quote.

BTW, with all the problems we have out there where would you rank a person's stand on abortion or rape? Does it trump Iran, the economy, middle east relations, the Afghan war, rebuilding Iraq? :coffee:

This guy got ambushed, gave a stupid answer, and should pay the price at the polls. Romney has distanced himself from these folks, publicly asking Akin to step down and admonishing him for his answers. The Donks didn't hear that part, however, and Romney is guilty of being "one of them" by proxy. :ohno:

Romney can say he is distancing himself, but since he selected "one of them" as his running mate, his actions speak much louder than his words.

Didn't the running mate ask Akin to step down too?

Did Ryan say he agrees with this even in the slightest?

Since Ryan and Akin were co-sponsors of a bill last year that would re-define what rape is, yes, he is just a smarter version of Akin. The bill would only have allowed abortion in cases of "forcible" rape, which is the same meaning as Akin used for "legitimate" rape

If Romney had such a problem with Akin, he never should have picked Ryan.

CAA Flagship wrote:When the economy is doing well, it is not a political issue. See Clinton's and W's second election. It is important to not completely derail the train. Sometimes, slowing it down or speeding it up is necessary. Obama and the Donks took a slowing train completely off the tracks with the health care bullshit and Dodd/Frank. The timing for that could not have been any worse.

I do - a know-nothing that his then Congressman father strong-armed his selection to replace him.

I wonder how many fetuses annually are aborted nationwide that were inseminated by forcible- not statutory- rape. I'm sure it has to be in the tens...

...yet this is the "gotcha" talking point for the left currently.

Anything to divert the public's attention away from the $16 trillion deficit, the class warfare being waged by the White House, Fast and Furious, the abomination of the health insurance (not health care) bill, the blight in our urban areas, the crash of the real estate market in the sand states, the absolute clusterfuck Dodd/Frank has been, the state of unemployment, all the broken promises of the 2008 campaign, etc.,etc.,et fucking cetera...

Wake up people!!!!!! :ohno:
