A six-game football series between Old Dominion and Norfolk State, slated to start next season at NSU, has been canceled because ODU is moving to the Football Bowl Subdivision, officials at both schools said.
Instead, ODU has asked Norfolk State to play one game next season at Foreman Field in return for a financial guarantee. The crosstown rivals would then probably play every four or five seasons, with all games at Foreman Field, ODU officials said.
The schools have yet to agree to an amount for the guarantee, which is expected to be at least six figures.
