Too many old players, too much money wrapped into old talent. Gonna be a Nationals/Braves divisional race for the foreseeable future.
Too much money wrapped up in old talent? Halladay and Utley are off the books after next year, so that frees up plenty of money. And even going into this offseason, the phils have enough money to spend on a top FA like Bourn for CF. The window does not close when you have 3 aces on the team and I fully expect them to bounce back next year.
Worst case, the Phils unload Lee, Utley and Rollins look old and Howard doesn't return to his HR hitting form.
Best case, Hamels, Halladay & Lee dominate, Utley & Rollins hit .280 with 15 - 20 HR's each and Howard hits 40 HR's and the Phils contend.
Reality is probably somewhere in the middle, but it is too early to bury the 2013 Phils.
