Just finished my Fantasy Football draft

Post by wkuhillhound »

It's been awhile for me and I'm doing fine thanks for asking. I'm very excited for WKU's football season and is preseason #3 in the Sun Belt :thumb: Beat those Governors on Sept. 1  Enough about my update.

Here is my draft. I had the 7th pick in Round 1 and the 4th pick in Round 2 and etc.

1) Tom Brady- QB - New England

2) Wes Welker- WR - New England

3) Michael Turner- RB - Atlanta

4) Jermichael Finley- TE - Green Bay

5) Dwayne Bowe- WR - Kansas City

6) Ahmad Bradshaw- RB - NY Giants

7) Nate Washington- WR - Tennessee

8) Jermaine Gresham- TE - Cincinnati

9) Rob Bironas- K - Tennessee

10) Seattle Defense

11) Peyton Hillis- RB - Kansas City

12) Andy Dalton- QB - Cincinnati

13) Titus Young- WR - Detroit

14) Rashad Mendenhall- RB - Pittsburgh

15) Kevin Walter- WR - Houston

Analysis:

How on earth did I get Tom Brady as the 7th overall pick? The first 4 picks were Running Backs (Foster, Rice, McCoy, and Matthews) that's why. Granted the RBs are decent but people keep saying that RBs are not as valuable anymore since the trends is leaning towards a passing league being more prevalent. You know with the WR's are pretty much untouched, but I digress.

Change in philosophy in this draft:

I usually have 2 Kickers, but not this time since Rob Bironas' bye week is not until Week 11, I don't think it's necessary to draft a 2nd one. Bironas has been very durable over the years in the NFL (knock on wood), I believe that depth is very important in EVERY position since a football team has depth why not in a Fantasy Draft? I just hope that the skill position players I picked can lead to a problem that I love to have is which one to pick week to week. Crossing my fingers on that one.

I probably should not have the Defense in Round 10, maybe a little bit later, since the defense carried Tim Tebow to a playoff berth, maybe Seattle can do the same with Matt Flynn. At least Flynn doesn't wear the QB uniform as a costume on a weekly basis. Sorry, getting off my soapbox.

I think that I have a chance at the Top 4 with my picks. Last season I finished 6th with a loss in the championship of the consolation bracket. I need to get back to 2010 as the champion of the league.

Someone took Matthews number 4? They do realize he's hurt now, right? You took at kicker at #9? Really? And you normally draft 2 kickers? Yikes.

I think you're weak at WR and TE - Welker is good, but you nothing after that unless Bowe just surprises this year and KC really bounces back. I'm not a big Finley fan - too many dropped balls. Getting Mendenhall that late is good.

Just hope Cassell and Charles don't go down again. Bowe turns into a liability real fast when he's got no help :ohno:

Mine:

QB1: Drew Brees - NO
QB2: Phillip Rivers - SD
RB1: Michael Turner - ATL
RB2: DeMarco Murray - DAL
RB3: Pierre Thomas - NO
RB4: Taiwan Jones (for when RDMC goes down :D ) - OAK
WR1: Victor Cruz - NYG
WR2: Dwayne Bowe - KC
WR3: Jeremy Maclin - PHI
WR4: Santonio Holmes - NYJ
WR5: Nate Washington - TEN
TE1: Rob Gronkowski - NE
K1: Stephen Gostowski - NE
DEF1: Baltimore Ravens
DEF2: Houston Texans

I figure I can pick up a backup TE and K later closer to their respective byes, while evaluating the weaknesses at WR and RB that I can drop to pick them up.

Trending upwards? So you crossed 150? I don't think Hillhound shrunk that much yet.

I'm in a keeper league. I can keep up to 3 players, they can't be same positions. Each keeper I lose a draft pick. e.i If I keep one, my first pick is in the second round, keep two, first pick is in the 3rd.

I have Matt Stafford, Ryan Matthews, Darren McFadden and Roddy White.

How bad is Matthews hurt? Do I keep 3?
"Elaine, you're from Baltimore, right?"
"Yes, well, Towson actually."
