In a blistering op-ed published Thursday night on Rolling Stone's website, Tom Morello blasts Mitt Romney's new VP choice as "the embodiment of the machine our music rages against."
In painting Ryan as antithetical to progress, Morello compares the Congressman's appreciation of RATM to Charles Manson's love for The Beatles and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie's liking for Bruce Springsteen.

Ryan likes RATM, RATM doesn't reciprocate. Artsy types tend to be libs. Not really news.D1B wrote:Great, but you missed the point in your follow up.ASUG8 wrote:

Morello is a great musician but an idealistic socialist. Music is about expression and freedom. I find it funny that Morello has a probably with someone that enjoys RATM.

Don't mistake me, I clearly see that Ryan has a whole lotta "rage" in him: A rage against women, a rage against immigrants, a rage against workers, a rage against gays, a rage against the poor, a rage against the environment. Basically the only thing he's not raging against is the privileged elite he's groveling in front of for campaign contributions.

True, and Ryan is an idealistic oligarchist. Whether you agree with Morello's politics or not, he seems like a pretty sharp dude.Ibanez wrote:D1B wrote:I love it when conks try to be cool.![]()

Re: Ryan's favorite band hates him
Ibanez is a idealistic music critic. Rage's music savagely attacks all that people like Ryan stand for. I, and anyone else truly familiar with RATM, would have been shocked if they allowed the Romney cabal to use their music to promote their hate and intolerance. That the Romney idiots even thought they'd get away with it underscores the same lack of awareness exhibited by Ibanez.kalm wrote:True, and Ryan is an idealistic oligarchist. Re: Ryan's favorite band hates him
Wrong as usual, Jeffrey. Clearly, Paul isn't running on his budget plan and affinity for RATM. This is just a pointless, meaningless jab at a guy. Morello makes a bunch of stereotype comments and says his guy is the antithesis of RATM. It's petty, at best. This article would have a little more importance if Romney and Paul were using, Sleep Now in The Fire or Bulls on Parade when the entered and exited a speaking engagement. However, they aren't. Ryan enjoys the band and it's music and apparently he is to be criticized for it. That's weak. Once again, the message is distorted, sent to the gullible masses who now eat it up and spit out as if it's true. I'm not a fan of Romney, but this is just silly. As to your last comment, that's just ridiculous.D1B wrote:Ibanez is a idealistic music critic. Rage's music savagely attacks all that people like Ryan stand for. Perhaps this should be the GOP's theme song.

I can't see the point of straight ticket voting.
