Arizona does have the gravel pit, that they call the valley of the sun.clenz wrote: Not bad for a state of 3,062,000 people...LESS THAN HALF THAT of Arizona's 6,482,505 .
Iowa isn't a barren wasteland of corn and dirt roads....but I wouldn't expect you to know any different.

You have anything to back that up? Because I'm pretty sure LSU and Alabama would have something to say about that.

Iowa is still 8th - with a roster loaded with "small" town kids from the upper midwest. The two Arizona FBS schools combined don't match Iowa's totals. With a state loaded with talent like Arizona you'd think UofA, ASU, and NAU could keep some of it in state.

Re: 2012 Phil Steele Preseason Rankings and AAs
Considering how close Arizona is to California...I wouldn't expect them to keep it in state most of the time. USC, Stanford, etc. all recruit in Arizona I'm sure. And I bet the rest of the Pac-12 does, too.clenz wrote:It's shifted a tad the last couple years then....

Re: 2012 Phil Steele Preseason Rankings and AAs
Pretty sure Mr. Steele doesn't like that the best offensive linemen from last year and our top tackler and pass rusher from 2011 are graduated. I can almost guarantee that's part of why he doesn't have NDSU top 5. I could care less. My money isn't on the Bison to repeat, anyway.blackfordpu wrote:I don't quite understand that.
