last one folks and we look at the guys most people dont know much about unless the game is on the line:
Kickers
Charleston Southern
TJ Higgins No 2011 Stats
Mark DeBoy No 2011 Stats
Cameron MItchell No 2011 Stats
Andy Brown did it all for CSU in 2011: kicking, punting, kickoffs, I think he even sold concessions when he wasnt doing one of those...Three players are battling for the job here, HIggins is the only one to actually attempt a kick coming in as he took 1 kickoff.
Coastal Carolina
Grant CLayton 9-16 FG 32-34 PAT
Alex Catron no FG attempts
Trevor Witcher No FG attemps
ULM transfer Grant Clayton stepped right in to fill the shoes of Justin Durham. Catron and Witcher split KO duties and look for more of the same this season to ease the kicking burden on Durham.
Gardner-Webb
Trever Austin 12-15 FG 21-22 PAT 2011 Big South All Conference Second Team
As the only kicker on the roster last year, Austin was pressed into duty as a true freshman and performed exceptionally, scoring 57 points to lead the team, and led the Big South with his 12 FG made. Austin once again is the only PK on the roster so the Bulldogs better hope he stays healthy.
Liberty
John Lunsford No 2011 Stats (2012 Signee)
Liberty lost one of the top kickers all time with the graduation of Matt Bevins, who despite battling injuries all year finished with 41 points including a perfect 29-29 on PAT, which would have been good for fifth among kickers in 2011. Lunsford comes to Lynchburg from FL and will be called upon to step up immediately just like Bevins in 2008.
Presbyterian
Aaron Mayes 7-11 FG 26-26 PAT
Jeremy Tommie 1-3 FG 8-9 PAT
Presbyterian is one of five teams in the conference to bring their starting kicker back for 2012. Mayes finished tied for 6th in made FG in 2011 (7) and 4th in made PATs (26) Tommie is available in MAyes needs a break but look for the senior to be carrying most of the workload for the Blue Hose in their first season with full Division I status
Stony Brook
Wesley Skiffington 11-15 FG 60-62 PAT 2011 Big South All Conference First Team
It was an annual battle between the redshirt senior Skiffington and Matt Bevins from Liberty for first team all conference honors, but with Bevins hobbled by injuries much of the season, Skiff won the battle easily in 2011. Bevins is now gone and look for him to have another banner year for the Seawolves
VMI
Jeff Sexton 3-4 FG 23-25 PAT
The Roos carry one kicker and one punter on the roster this year and Sexton likely will be taking care of the kicking duties for the most part
Team Rankings
1. Stony Brook
2. Coastal Carolina
3. Gardner-Webb
4. Presbyterian

Re: Big South K 2012
Tyson Prior will likely do the place kicking for CSU this year. He hit two nice ones, a 42 and 47 yarder in the last scrimmage.

Re: Big South K 2012
Thanks for the update BUCDAD...Still have LU and CSU at the bottom because they have basically brand new unproven kickers this year
