Those prices are pretty valid where I shop. In fact, the spaghetti and sauce are a lot less than what he listed, as is the loaf of bread. The milk though is about 30 cents low. I can't speak for the lunchmeat or the Cheetos, but the rest are just about right.kalm wrote:Looking at those prices you obviously haven't grocery shopped for awhile or cut and pasted off a conk blog.AZGrizFan wrote:EBT is now accepted at fast food restaurants. A dozen eggs: $1.89
Loaf of bread: $3.00
Pound of bacon: $4.59
Gallon of milk: $2.19
Package of lunchmeat: $2.49
Package of cheese: $2.99
Bag of Cheetos: $1.49
Bulk spaghetti: $1.99
Garlic bread: $.99
Spaghetti sauce: $2.99
Total: $24.61. If I go buy that instead of one crappy fast-food meal, I could feed a family of four at least TWO breakfasts, TWO lunches and a dinner.

I'd like to see where AZ is getting milk. That's about what I'm paying for a half gallon....

Nice red herring, douche. I guarantee you I could go out right now and get within 5% of that price. Oh, and I'm a geographic bachelor. I shop every week.kalm wrote:Looking at those prices you obviously haven't grocery shopped for awhile or cut and pasted off a conk blog.AZGrizFan wrote:EBT is now accepted at fast food restaurants. Those prices are pretty comparable to where I live...NW MN. Now if it was in NYC, then probably higher.

Manhatten, maybe. Not in Brooklyn. My in-laws live there and they get fresh produce, bread, and many everyday items, and a HUGE variety at the different ethnic stores, at very low prices.Bison Fan in NW MN wrote:kalm wrote:

Come to think of it, my local Indian (the racist, bigoted, divided society, smart, computer literate, Asian kind of Indian...not the alcohol and cigarette addicted, lazy, unemployed local Indians that we have here, locally...American-local, as in Western Hemisphere local, not local-local (because I do not know of any local American Indian-Indian stores)) grocery store, the local Chinese grocery store, and the local Mexican grocery store all have much cheaper prices than the local American-owned grocery stores…certainly much, much lower than the local local-yokel owned health food store. Damned immigrants are saving me money and making me displace my local brothers from their American grocery jobs. Damn, I even use those self-checkout aisles (unless there is a cute 16....er, I mean 18-year old checkout girl with a trust fund and a bad memory). Why…I'm almost un-American, I tell ya’. Trickery, trickery, trickery.
dback...should I stop shopping at the local ethnic stores so that the American owned ones (with their real American jobs) can survive? I need some moral imperatives...uh...guidelines, here.
