ESPN calls App. State DIII
ESPN calls App. State DIII
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was watching Sportsnation on ESPN last night and Carissa Thompson talked about when she was covering the "biggest upset in college football history, DIII App state beat Michigan" Colin Cowturds response was "why were you covering a DIII school"
God I hate ESPN...
God I hate ESPN...
Re: ESPN calls App. State DIII
I'm guessing Carissa is a female covering football which is the first mistake made. She probably thinks that D3 ASU had more home runs and free throws than Michigan did to win the game.

Give Cowherd some slack, how can he be expected to know about anything else when he spends 9 hours a day talking about USC footbal?

Cowherd knows nothing about sports. The only thing he knows is the media as it relates to sports. He is a complete clown.

Is there that much time available to discuss USC football when he's so busy with his mancrush on Tom Brady?Franks Tanks wrote:Give Cowherd some slack, how can he be expected to know about anything else when he spends 9 hours a day talking about USC footbal?

Pretty much alums and townies, and even amongst them I doubt the percentage is all that high.
Re: ESPN calls App. State DIII
There are hundreds of thousands (millions?) of FCS alumni and students out there, and unfortunately it's a rather small proportion of them that understand our place in college sports. If folks at the FCS level don't fully understand it I can understand an FBS fan not knowing. We have a Clemson friend who said she'd never heard of App until we moved down here, and it's literally a 2.5 hr drive away....and bigger than Clemson.Grizalltheway wrote:Pretty much alums and townies, and even amongst them I doubt the percentage is all that high.
That being said, it's inexcusable for someone(s) to work in football for the premier sports television network and not understand it. Yeah, I'm talking to you Herbstreit.

I think next season UNCC will announce that they'll be playing the Patriots at home in their new stadium in south Concord. It's pretty impressive really....no team ----> CAA ------->CUSA ------> NFL seems like a likely progression.Ibanez wrote:Maybe she was thinking of UNCC?

I'd go even further and say that for the majority, there are the BCS conferences, MAYBE a handful of other FBS programs, and then everything elsebluehenbillk wrote:Let's be honest, for 90% of America there is 1-A and then there is everything else....
