ESPN calls App. State DIII

Sorry if this has already been posted, but I was watching Sportsnation on ESPN last night and Carissa Thompson talked about when she was covering the "biggest upset in college football history, DIII App state beat Michigan" Colin Cowturds response was "why were you covering a DIII school"

God I hate ESPN...

I'm guessing Carissa is a female covering football which is the first mistake made. She probably thinks that D3 ASU had more home runs and free throws than Michigan did to win the game.

These two things are true. We can think we are great all we want, but nobody gives a shit about FCS, no matter how Loud and Cold are stadiums are...

Pretty much alums and townies, and even amongst them I doubt the percentage is all that high.

There are hundreds of thousands (millions?) of FCS alumni and students out there, and unfortunately it's a rather small proportion of them that understand our place in college sports. If folks at the FCS level don't fully understand it I can understand an FBS fan not knowing. We have a Clemson friend who said she'd never heard of App until we moved down here, and it's literally a 2.5 hr drive away....and bigger than Clemson.

That being said, it's inexcusable for someone(s) to work in football for the premier sports television network and not understand it. Yeah, I'm talking to you Herbstreit.

I think next season UNCC will announce that they'll be playing the Patriots at home in their new stadium in south Concord. It's pretty impressive really....no team ----> CAA ------->CUSA ------> NFL seems like a likely progression.

I heard him refer to the D-II schools that used to be D I-AA the other day and I thought the same thing. He WENT to a school at that level.

I'd go even further and say that for the majority, there are the BCS conferences, MAYBE a handful of other FBS programs, and then everything else
