Still not in favor of the death penalty, but they said yesterday that it could take a year for this trial to even start. I'm all for the speedy part. :ohno:

I'm not a death penalty fan, but if it is used, then it should be with cases like this. Not someone like Troy Davis (Georgia) or Cameron Willingham (Texas).

And if we aren't going to budge with gun control, can we at least make headway with high-capacity magazines? Seriously, who needs a 100-round drum for an assault rifle?

The CO shooter didn't have anything close to a 100 round drum.

Troy Davis was a cop killer, he should have been put down years ago.

Yes he did. That's been known since Saturday. You should do some research before typing something so wrong. F'n moron.
http://articles.cnn.com/2012-07-22/us/u ... tman-movie" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The semi-automatic rifle used in the Colorado theater killings jammed during the rampage, apparently because of a problem with the 100-shot magazine feeding it, a law enforcement source with direct knowledge of the investigation said Sunday.

The military-style AR-15 had a separately purchased drum magazine, which can have trouble feeding bullets into the firing chamber if the gun is fired rapidly

There were huge question marks around that whole case. And if there is anything less than 100% certainty, he did not deserve the death penalty.

Not at all. I was born and raised in Savannah and I was there at the time. There was smoking gun evidence against Davis. The only problem was the police didn't get the correct search warrant and that evidence was thrown out.

Cops need to do a better job next time. Bad search warrant is a major fuck up.

I do worry a little that if I get up in a theater to go take a leak and come back around the corner surprising someone I'll get dropped where I stand by somebody packing. Kind of like when an Arab stood up to go take a leak on a plane post 9/11 and everybody got ready to rush him.

No shit, Sherlock.

It was a stupid fuck up and the judge did just what he should have done and disallow the evidence. Still doesn't take away from the fact that Davis killed MacPhail.

Fucker still got what he deserved...a needle in the arm.

Not that I watch Fox News much nowadays but Bill O'Reilly had a tremendous point: If you sign up to take flying lessons nowadays - The FBI or some government agency gets notified. However, if you buy 6,000 rounds of ammo they just ask you how you'd like to pay for it.....

6,000 really isn't that much.

Here's a tip boys, another big gun run is just around the corner. I am betting that 5.56 and .22 ammo becomes a commodity soon, and with the growing possibility of an Obama re-election the run on ARs and large clip handguns will be back and even more spendy than the last gun/ammo scare when Obama was first elected.

Stock up on some ammo, if nothing else, even just 500 round boxes of .22 long rifle, likely to double your money next year when it is all off the shelves.

Thinking of doing some aggressive shopping for a few ARs myself now while they are cheap.

To keep up with the Jones for crying out loud!

What's the point of arming up if you are going to be out gunned??

Seriously, I think a nice 900 dollar AR or AK will be worth 1500 or more in a years time.

They make a civilian model that is semi-auto, a little spendy but pretty sick.

I used to lust after a FN-FAL, then I got a hold of one, and it was just too huge.

Those P-90s look to be the ticket for plinking around the suburbs.

Great gopher/coyote gun. Ammo is readily available. Very inexpensive to shoot. Platform is very versatile and upgrades are plentiful.
