Cool rant, bro. I don't think I have as much hate as you do towards anything--not even Georgia Southern. I'm ok with religion not being involved in politics, and I also agree with GF's post. I'm sorry you don't, but then again...as a humanist, you should be ok with people having differing viewpoints.
No i shouldnt. I should fight for what is right. The church should be taxed.
 You know what they call people who are not ok with others having differing viewpoints and believe they "fight for what is right?"

Christians. (and every other religious group) I am sure you will be welcomed with open arms to the religious group of your choosing. Shalom.

No way, Kimosabe. Christians are often fighting for what the pope and some fuckwad in a billion dollar church with a microphone strapped to his greasy face tells them is right. They're often fighting for what is wrong, like bigotry and theocracy. They're also fighting to force people to believe their fucking nonsense like the virgin birth, Noah's Ark and talking snakes.

I don't hate the religious. I hate their leaders and the apologists.

Yes way, Cardinal D1B. I'll try again. They may be doing it because someone tells them to, but they still believe they are fighting "for what is right" just as you do. So, how is your dismissing of other opinions and calling yours the "right way" different from Christians? You sly dog, you...go home D1B, go home.

Typical catholic mealy mouth doublespeak - preach against something yet funnel millions of dollars into campaigns that deny homosexuals equal treatment.

And, they're still just opinions that you think "are right," just like Christians, Muslims, etc. It is cute though for you say you don't have to value others opinions and that yours are "right," only do disparage religious folks for doing the same. :thumb: I don't have a problem with your opinions, I just enjoy the irony.

That was a Baptist minister. He's agin it.

Pastor Worely should lose his tax exempt status.

Meanwhile, look at this.

Enjoy it all you want, but there are lines in the sand and there is right and wrong. "Hitler was great" is an opinion, and it's wrong. I don't disparage the religious for having opinions or advocating, I disparage those opinions that are obviously fucked, as highlighted in my previous post.

I will, as it's hilarious. And the bold part sounds just like something spoken on Sundays from a pulpit.

At least you didn't deny the irony this time. :notworthy:

There isn't a bigger freeloader on society than a preacher. A little nonsensical jabber on Sunday and voila! - a tax free life. :ohno: Think they'd be ashamed....

No shit, my dad like me ran an insurance agency. When the new preacher at our church came to town he came down to get insurance, and expected my dad to provide it to him at no cost. What an asshole. :ohno: :ohno:

Talk about your sense of entitlement. That's who should be filling the min wage jobs today. Preachers. Got plenty of them laying around doing nothing; good thing most of them can't get knocked up. :coffee:

Not all of them - or at least not to be so.

The new mega-church preacher - yes, you are right.

My dad worked hard, never made more than $30K a year.

We had many vacations interrupted by funerals for church-goers. Dad gardened to feed us, and anyone else that was short of food. He volunteered at another church that needed help running their child care center. He spent 25-30 hours a week visiting hospitals.

Tax free? Nope. He was paid a salary, on that he paid income tax like any person.

A little hyperbolic there. The church itself might not pay taxes, but as jon said, the preachers sure do.

I've done loans for ministers. The ones I know don't get paid a whole lot.
