Wyland may have misunderstood or jumped the gun.

Albany AD denies we've received an invitation.
@MarkSingelais: AD McElroy: "We have not been offered any membership opportunity with the CAA."

At least yet.

Mark Singelais‏@MarkSingelaisUAlbany's McElroy: "Conference affiliation is a shifting landscape that requires consultation and collaboration."

The New Yorkification of the CAA. One Lawn Guyland team was plenty. :ohno:

Just kidding. Can we at least cap it at two NY teams, maybe? Like, Stony Brook, we'll let you in when Hofstra or Albany leaves?

It will be 2 NY teams. HU dropped football 2 yrs ago, and Albany & SBU allegedly will be FB only.
So thats 2 NY teams for FB and 1 for other sports.

At this weekends golf outing, Albany football alums were told, by coach Ford, that we were going to be invited to join CAA (football only) along with SBU and that URI might be staying in CAA football.

That will make CAA Football awfully northern-centric. Maybe it's time for the the schools from Villanova south to split off and form their own conference? :sarcasm:
