Besides "He's NOT Obama", what leads you to vote for Mitt?

Post by dbackjon »

Serious question.

What excites you about him?
What policies of his do you like?

And if he ended up dropping out of the race, would you be upset?
Who would be your last minute convention savior to take his place?

I haven't been excited about voting FOR a candidate since Reagan. Not Clinton, Not Gore, Not Kerry, Not BO, is good enough.

Dropping out? Where did you hear that. MSNBC? :o

Actually a few places - that if the pressure to release tax returns becomes to great, he will drop out, rather than release them.

Unless you are in a battle ground state, your vote will not count anyway.

Mitt wins bigger only in Utah than he does in Wyoming. Wyoming BTW had the largest voter percentage for McCain in 2008 of all states, including Arizona.

In the battle ground states there are about 8% so called undecideds out there circulating around, the game depends entirely upon them, and all the ads, tweets, posts, breaking news, and gotchas will have no effect on the outcome in most states.

Again, I predict a particularly apathetic voter turnout for the Presidential election, and if it were not for the very local races, I would not even show up to our primaries. Once that is done, the general election in Wyoming is just plain boring.

That won't happen. The RNC won't let it.

No, I"m asking who JON voted for. He was "wishing he had a stronger candidate" in 2004, but besides the fact that he "wasn't Bush", what was it that made JON vote for John Kerry?

Actually, that's a legitimate reason. Might be the only good reason for me to vote Romney. :coffee: :coffee:

+2. The Supreme Court, higher taxes on everything under an Obummer administration, and aversion to European "social democracy" are my top 3 reasons to vote for Mitt.

Plus, BHO is an arrogant jackass who never admits a mistake.

To expand on Jon's question, how is Mitt going to be noticeably different from Bush or Obama?

The Supreme Court would be the only reason I'd vote for Obama...but it's still not a good enough one. :coffee:

Not that I particularly like quoting political gotcha lines, but it did pop into my head and thought it was funny - we need to vote for Romney so that we can find out what will be in his Presidency. Pelosi would like that rationale.

I'm still uncommitted right now. I voted for Obama before and he's been a collossal disappointment in many ways, and he's just doubling down on that in the way he's conducting his campaign. I like Romney's credentials but he can't seem to navigate his way through the politics of running for office very well - way too many stumbles. And I agree to a point on the principle of how different would he be anyway. But then again, I know what I have now, so the only chance for change is to vote for someone else. And I'm not voting Libertartian - Johnson is running a distant third right now in polls in his own state of New Mexico - as nice as the idea that we could have a legit 3rd party is, I don't see it materializing enough by November of this year.

+6.93

Mitt is an arrogant jackass also, but less so than Obama. Another four under Obama and he will have made everyone middle class, both the high earners and the no earners.
