If he picks Rice as his VP then yes. Most likely Gary Johnson though.

If so:

Obama 57%
Romney 33%
D1B 10%

I'll vote for SD before I vote for Obama....

(Of course, that's because I honestly think SD would do a MUCH better job than Obama has done...with both hands tied behind his back, SD would do better....)

I'll say this about Johnson: most national Libertarian candidates are crazy cranks. Johnson is no crank.

I voted Libertarian for a guy named Andre Marrou as a protest against Elder Bush's breaking his "no new taxes" pledge back in '92. He was a crank.

A lot of them would vote for her but she would indeed have a problem because she leans pro choice on the abortion issue. It's not a race thing though. For example: If Alan West were running for President, unless he's got some skeleton that pops up, Republicans would vote for him and they would also be very enthusiastic so that there would be high Republican voter turnout. They'd like the way he carries himself. Take the video at the link at the bottom of this post. Yeah we can get into a debate about whether or not he should've said there are a bunch of communists in Congress but in terms of perception, watching the exchange, he really cut the guy off at the knees. I thought at the time that if this guy got into a debate with Obama it would create the impression of a grown man in a debate with a little boy. He'd kill Obama in terms of the impression created. He's got that air of authority and certainty. And the impression created is what counts.

He would get attacked a lot because of some of the statements he's made. But he would stand his ground. Instead of trying to do damage control he would just fire back. And Republicans would like that. At the end of the video note what happens when Luntz asks how many people would vote for him. If you want to really look at it you can pause the video when people raise their hands. The percentage of Whites who raise their hands is a lot higher than the percentage of Blacks that do. But 50% (3 of 6) Blacks did raise their hands. I don't know how Luntz composed that group. But if Republicans could get even 30% of Blacks to vote for a Presidential candidate the Democrat would be in serious trouble.

Go to the link below to watch the exchange. The video is 8 minutes long and you want to start at the 4 minute mark. You can skip there by putting your cursor on the loading indicator area at the bottom of the video. You will see a little time indicator come up. Go to the right until you get to 4 minutes and click.

What's really bad is disparaging Blacks who actually break out of the lock-step pattern of getting in line to support the Democratic Party. Like someone like Condi Rice is a "House Niqqer" because she doesn't toe the lock step line that Blacks are "expected" to toe.

What you and others would call a "House Niqqer" in that sense I would call "A person with the courage to stand by their own thought process and conviction instead of doing what they're 'expected' to do." It'd be a lot more understandable to think of the 90% or so Blacks who consistently support the Democratic Party "House Niqqers." If ANY Blacks are "on the plantation" it's those who just vote Democrat year after year as a matter of reflex and/or being in a "that's what you do" culture in that respect. Then when one of them breaks away from that plantation we get the kind of stuff we see in calling Condi Rice a "House Niqqer."

I don't understand why you spill all this ink responding to someone who cannot be bothered to do anything other than regurgitate DNC sound bites and talking points. I am not even completely sure Jon is a real person and not some bot algorithm.

That is exactly the kind of attack I would expect. The problem with it is that if anybody watches him for any length of time they'll realize it's not true. Anybody who's willing to be objective anyway. They may not vote for him, but they're going to see that he has a well-considered basis for what he says. He's WAY quicker on his feet than Sarah Palin.

Basically Allen West is dangerous to the "progressive" side because he is a Black that has been through the "authentic" Black experience in the US and who comes down on the side of conservatism. So they have to try to address him by engaging in ad hominem attacks in order to keep people from actually listening to him at any length. But if people do listen to him at any length he's going to make a good impression. He's going to come off as being able to back up what he says as he did with that young guy who tried to chide him about the "communists" statement.

I live in the Hellenic Republic of Illinois. From an electoral college perspective my vote is irrelevant so I'll be voting Libertarian. Hopefully one or both of the parties eventually realize that people are fed up with their partisan bickering and start working on resolving real problems.
Being wrong about a topic is called post partisanism - kalm

MAQA - putting the Q into qrazy qanon qult qonspiracy theories since 2015.

It will probably be difficult for MAQA yahoos to overcome the Qult programming but they should give being rational & reasonable a try.

By "Hellenic," I assume you're referring to the state's dire fiscal condition and not to Chicago's ethnicity! that said, the Windy City must have a Greek neighborhood somewhere.

You're just jealous that you don't live in a swing state - here in Virginia we (along with our friends in Ohio, Florida, and a couple other states) get to choose who your new president will be - so suck on that donkboy!

Of course, we also get the same set of negative attack ads 24/7 from now until November... :ohno:

We aren't getting any Obama ads here in Missouri, so it seems a safe bet that Obama has already forfeited Missouri to Romney.

Ultimately Romney - like Obama - are both going to protect wall street and the FED
so SAME/SAME there

They both passed a universal health care reform bill - even though to get any (and I do mean ANY) votes after working closely with the president (his own words) he'll have to repeal the Bill that he actually thinks is good legislation...
so SAME/SAME there

Both Romney and Obama will pander to the Pentagon and a continual state of global warfare - we are a military industrial complex after all
So SAME/SAME there

Obama finally HAD TO take a liberal position on gay rights - but he held out as long as he could
He needed something to differentiate himself from Romney otherwise he would have held his original stance

Both have proven to be fairly easily bought
They are both all about feathering their own beds and making sure future alignments are in order

Obama had to (and will continue to have to) favor workers UNIONs - even though they have killed our global competitive abilities - because it wins him some Key States even though I don't think he gives a crap about them but no Democrat can let go of all those automatic votes

so it really comes down to social issues (again)
Abortion and citizens rights vs. Corporations rights

perhaps a few other things but I'm tired of thinking already... I kinda dislike them both

JSO and AZ, do y'all even agree with Condoleeza on much at all?

She's pro choice, supports gay civil unions, supports affirmative action, supports government funding of the arts, supports most illegal immigrants staying in the US, supports staying in Afghanistan (not sure of JSO opinion on this, I know AZ is adamantly opposed, though).
