I don't have the polling data but my bet would be the majority think the Separation of Church and State thing has been taken too far. I hate even using the term since it's not in the Constitution. But that's the term used.

I'd bet that if you were to do a poll to find out if...say...the majority of Americans favored having the Federal government tell a local community that they can't have a prayer read over their PA system prior to a high school football game the majority would say "no." And I think it would be a fairly strong majority.

I even think that an overwhelming majority would say that prayer should be allowed in public schools.

I suspect the majorities would be even stronger if you could sit down with the and take them through the language of the First Amendment to see what it actually says, and point out that all it does is prohibit the Congress of the United States from making a law with respect to the establishment of religion. Nothing at all about a broad "Separation of Church and State."

On this issue, thanks to the Judiciary, what we now have in the United States is a tyranny of the minority.

I understand where you're coming from so I have to ask what exactly has Obama done while in office that would appeal to a social liberal? Patriot Act? Still in place. Gay marriage?
