Obama hasn't had an actual job in 25 years...
He won't be filing for unemployment - you have to be employed to become unemployed
Politicians are all a bunch of freeloaders
the lot of them...
no wonder why they're all lawyers

Given how much of a crap shoot these things can be, that's entirely within the scope of possibility. Just keep THIS in mind, though:dbackjon wrote:I can't wait for the second term!

Obama's going to win. I think you need to think more in terms of hoping that Republicans can keep enough in Congress to minimize the damage he's going to try to do to the system. And it's going to get a lot worse in that respect because in the second term he's not going to have to be worried about getting re-elected.

I'm not so sure about that, JSO. President Obama has a HORRIBLE record in terms of the economy and in keeping campaign promises. He has a proven corrupt head of DOJ that he has failed to replace (and has even helped in a cover-up). He hasn't done a lick of campaigning. Sure, he's raised bank and will probably start using it soon, but he hasn't done a thing yet. He's had some close calls in a couple of primaries. That does not bode well.
He pretty much has to win Cali to pull it off. To do that, he has to somehow get SF/LA to hit the polls harder than SD/Central Valley. That COULD be difficult. Romney's going to get UT (not much of a prize, I know) and probably the Bible Belt as well. The confusion over the President's faith (and his faith "connections") is going to tell.
Maybe all of that won't be enough. Who knows? We'll find out in November. I believe that Romney will win. We shall see....

Obama will win California. ANY Democratic candidate for President would win California. You could have somebody caught on video screwing a pig running and if he's a Democrat he's going to win California. That's pretty much a given. He pretty much has to win Cali to pull it off.
It's one of the reasons why I think we ought to give California back to Mexico.

Au contraire, mon frere. Cali hasn't always been a Democratic state. In fact, it isn't one big Democratic mass now. Sure, it's skewed by massive conglomerations of Democrats in Los Angeles and San Francisco (and, to a lesser degree, in Sacramento). But Republicans actually dominate in the Central Valley and in San Diego, which are military-intensive. Military-minded people tend to vote Republican, and vote often. (Of course, there ARE exceptions.)JohnStOnge wrote:Obama will win California. ANY Democratic candidate for President would win California. Yes, there's that streak to worry about. THe Democrats have won Cali in the last FIVE elections. That does NOT mean that they have ALWAYS won it. In fact, since 1900, the Republicans have won Cali more than the Democrats have (15-12, with one year going to the Progressive Party when they ran Teddy Roosevelt). Those numbers MIGHT be a bit skewed given that five of those GOP wins involved Cali residents (Nixon and Reagan). But the fact remains that there ARE significant Republican concentrations in Cali, and we CAN pull it off.
Does that mean that we WILL? That, of course, remains to be seen. But I will NEVER vote for a proven Commie. (And that's not a racist thing, either. I voted for Alan Keyes TWICE in the primaries....)

Re: I can't wait for January....
CA as a whole is never going Repub ever again. The Dems bending over and getting in bed with the unions has guaranteed this. However yes, there are areas of CA that are red. I hate the "winner take all" mentality associated with the electoral votes. It really makes voting for President pointless in CA.SuperHornet wrote:Au contraire, mon frere.
