Is ObamaCare what we really want?

SuperHornet's Athletics Hall of Fame includes Jacksonville State kicker Ashley Martin, the first girl to score in a Division I football game. She kicked 3 PATs in a 2001 game for J-State.

I just looked. I pay 109.50 twice a month for BCBS for a family of five. Of course I work for a very wonderful company that has absorbed increases over the last 10 years or so. So I am, by no means, the norm from stories I hear.

Re: Is ObamaCare what we really want?
I pay $3,435 annually. My company pays $8,166. Costs went up 3.75% from last year mostly due to the fact that I added some benefits this year that I didn't have last year.

Re: Is ObamaCare what we really want?
We have a catastrophic plan with a 10K ded, it costs my wife's employer right at 1,200 a month, that is a group plan for her and I. We contribute and spend from a HSA each year.
My daughter married a young man who has a child of his own, this kid is uninsurable. He was born with a combination of serious syndromes resulting in no hip joints, poor skin conditions, lack of appetite, and a generally unhealthy condition over all. He is now 8 years old, and headed out to Rochester to the Shriners Hospital to have his artificial sockets installed and be put in a body cast. He weighs about 60 pounds. His medical bills for last year alone would exceed one million dollars, his dad is a plumber and my daughter is a hair stylist. If they report an income combined over $36,000 a year they will not qualify for medicade anylonger and the kid will get no more medical care.
I am in favor of the affordable health care act, and would have been so regardless of my relationship with my adopted grandson. This is not a political subject folks, but we just had to make it political.
It is about civilization, humanity, decency, and common sense. Medical care should not be kept from anybody in this country for any reason, and everybody should damn well be contributing as well.
This bill sucks, but it is because it was so badly bastardized by the opposition that only a shell of the original bill was left. It will need a lot of amending and work done to it, but it still does some damn important things for citizens who were left out of medical coverage by insurance companies simply because of the fact they needed care.
Rant over, you political hacks can go back to throwing spears at each other.

One day, someone will have to explain to me the FSA. I just don't get it.
Hey, maybe we can get Insurance companies to pay for hearing aids. I still can't believe Aetna told me hearing wasn't a necesity.

It's really all a Conk scheme. Keep this on the down low but they wanted Obamacare to pass so that when they take over the White House they can put the death panels in place and get rid of all of the undesirables.

Shouldn't the question be, "how much do you pay for health insurance?"93henfan wrote:Hey SuperHornet, how much do you pay for your healthcare?
I know what I pay for health insurance, what I pay for health care can vary.

I think they'll go after people of color and those with blue-collar criminal records first so you should be safe for a little while.Ibanez wrote:The gays?UNI88 wrote:It's really all a Conk scheme. $3,424.98 per year for BCBS Basic plus a sizeable copay for doctor visits and way too much for prescriptions. And you?Ibanez wrote:How much do you pay for health care?93henfan wrote:Hey SuperHornet, how much do you pay for your healthcare?

I posted above. However, $20 copay, $30 copay for specialist, the only prescription we have (my wifes birth control) is sometimes $25/month, and sometimes it's free.93henfan wrote:$3,424.98 per year for BCBS Basic plus a sizeable copay for doctor visits and way too much for prescriptions. NOt that any of you care, but some of you know the trouble we had in 2007 with the loss of our child. We decided that next summer, when school is over, we're going to try to concieve. I gotta get back in shape if i'll be chasing a rug rat around in early 2014.
