Endgame - Blueprint for Global Enslavement

I know Jone is a bullshit artist/shill, however, the "documentary" movie is pretty interesting and worth a watch- and there definitely is a national "system of control" being set up- Heck, we have cameras at almost every intersection here in SLO now (they can identify who's in the car, whether drivers are "distracted" or what-have you).
Seems like every city I go to has these cameras on traffic poles now (they say they're for helping traffic) however, you can pull up to a red light, with no traffic around you, and the light doesn't change- so, I'm thinking they aren't so much for helping traffic, as helping to track people- their travel patterns etc. A system such as this would be very dangerous if say the government went nutso and wanted wipe out political dissidents, you would know where they are at all times.
Anyway, just food for thought

In a time of universal deceit, telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

Only it wasn't cotton candy. It was fiber cable.

The overall point here is legit. I don't like or trust government watching or tracking what we do without probable cause. Technology is making it too easy and in the wrong hands it can be abused.
Not to go all V about this but people shouldn't fear their governments, governments should fear their people.

Endgame - Blueprint for Global Enslavement
There are lots of cameras...and not enough people to watch them in real time...
If...IF...a city has the $$$$, then everything might be recorded and saved for a period of time...
I don't like all the cameras that have popped up, but let's be real here...big brother can't watch everything...they can record lots but can only save it for so long unless someone flags a recording for future analysis...

Too late, unfortunately, if the technology exists it will be used. Surveillance is here to stay and will increase exponentially. Arguments about probable cause and civil liberties are for academics. Soon we'll be having unelected bureaucrats determing who our domestic enemies arekalm wrote:The overall point here is legit. Neal Stephenson's Diamond Age has some pretty interesting takes on a society where surveillance is 24/7.
( you talking about V as in the Pynchon book?)

What logicial reason do you have the government wanting to track everyone? Your premise is comical and completely unrealistic. Take off the tinfoil hat.expandspanos wrote:

More importantly when will those cameras become self aware? This must be stopped, the future of mankind may be at stake here.kalm wrote:But their might be enough computers to watch the cameras.Col Hogan wrote:There are lots of cameras...and not enough people to watch them in real time...

In seriousness I'm not a fan of it, but as others have said I doubt there is enough people watching all the surveillance to make anything of it.

First they came for the communists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.
Then they came for the Jews,
and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.
