A $10 million dollar budget (GCU) vs a $4 million dollar budget (Colorado Mines) makes a big difference in how ready a school is to be Division I.

CSU-S is more accurate and should be less offensive than references like Cow Poly and UCFE. But, if you prefer, to match your chosen method of referring to schools, I could use the old favorite for your school (Suc State).

We'll see. I suspect, however, the WAC will offer all three of these schools this week with the presidents meeting. I think doing so is their only hope right now.

I think the WAC will invite them as well. It is their only play left. Maintaining FBS football is out of the cards for the WAC so now they have to focus on trying to be an Oly sports conference. The issue with this is they will now need to find another men’s sport to sponsor since they won’t sponsor football so that could be problematic.

I agree Bako and UVU are pretty even from a BSC standpoint. From the list of sports they sponsor, both schools have programs missing from the BSC sports sponsored list. It could go either way but I (and probably many other Hornet fans) would prefer our in-state brothers.

I heard GCU is a “for profit” school so BSC members might take issue with that. Also being D-2 would be a big strike against them. I don’t think the BSC is in a position where it needs or should consider a D-2 move up. That being said, the WAC is extremely desperate for members so they might take a long hard look at GCU.
