But look at all the oil flowing out of Iraq now! Wait, it had nothing to do with oil...right?

Yep. Most Dems were for invading Afghanistan and finding Bin Laden too. Personally I prefer the use of drones to ground troops as long as they're used judiciously. Drones don't kill funeral mourners and American citizens without due process...

It's all about economics really, how to effectively kill stinky towel heads at lowest per capita dollars spent. Also think of the practice of bombing funerals as economic for both sides, we get a crack at a crowd, they have zero miles to travel with the meat wagon, win-win.

Of course he is. It's an election year and with the economy teetering, he's got to try to rally somewhere else. Bush did it, right Libs?
Well, he tried anyway. He just ain't no Barack Obama when it comes to greasing terrorists. Hell, Bush couldn't even find the right country to look in... :coffee:

 After 9/11 your boy sent 90% of the troops to Iraq, where everybody agreed Osama wasn't. Poor dumb squat needed the mission accomplisher to to come in and walk dubya's talk for him.

Obama had enough sense not to pick a VP that was smarter than him. :coffee:

Look into the statistics on drone attacks under Bush vs those under Obama. I think you'll find there's a stark difference.

Some of this is due to improved drone technology

How can you not like drones...unless you have a heat sig? They take care of those fairly well, IMO.

We wouldn't have those figures if Bush/Cheney/Wolfowitz knew what they were doing and actually went after the enemy. It's sad really, so many lives could have been saved. :ohno:

No, I got his point. It's pointless at this juncture. If he wants to bitch about Republicans, that's fine. THe fact is Obama has had control for 3.5 years and has had ample time to turn it around.

In reality, you all should fuckin realize that Obama isn't fighting. He's delegating. Huge Fuck Difference.

Get a pen and take some notes...BIN LADEN HAS BEEN DEAD FOR OVER A YEAR...and since then we have taken FAR more casualties than any year under Bush.

Obama's been going after the enemy...and we're still getting casualties. In fact, of the 2002 US fatalities in Afghanistan, only 630 came on Bush's watch...the other 1,372 US soldiers killed were under Obama.

And Obama's been hitting civilians with regularity.

Yup, Obama is killing people of all kinds of people...apparently with your approval.

Just throwing this out there for arguments sake - regardless of the merits or lack of merits of the Iraq war or the right or wrong of deciding to go in there in the first place, one irrefutable consequence of that war was the degradation of the popularity of the Al-Queda movement in that part of the world. Heck, even Bin Laden said it himself, the actions taken by Al-Queda in Iraq, specifically the actions taken against Iraqi's and other Muslims, significantly eroded the public support Al-Queda had and put severe limitations on what Al-Queda could do and the ability of its leaders to move freely about the region as they had prior to the war. One of the many reasons why Bin Laden was holed up in that condo in Pakistan was that he had no where else to go, and the Iraq war played a big role in making that the case.

Like I said, it doesn't change the arguments over whether it was the right thing to do or not and if it was done for the right reasons, but it's an outcome nonetheless.
