Al Qaeda sure does have a lot of second-in-commands. Thought we got rid of most of them during the Bush years.

Keeping in mind the last "second in command" was only lit on fire by Obama a mere week ago, and the subject of the superior other thread on this same very subject....
Obama is working the list, from the top down...
Hope nobody here is on it.

every time you kill a "second in command" there is instantly another second in command, no?

And did Bush ever kill any Al-Queda? I think he was opposed to killing any of his Saudi buddies

I don't recall...I think Bush was pretty busy steering natural disasters into New Orleans. Just ask Ray Nagin.dbackjon wrote:Yup.Wedgebuster wrote:

It is stupid, but nobody should be surprised. This is just like 2004, only with parties reversed. The only constant is the level of hypocrisy on both sides.89Hen wrote:Almost as stupid as all the Libs who condemned Bush for doing it and now praising Obama for the same thing.dbackjon wrote:

I don't believe Obama was handling the controls of that drone. Was probably someone in the CIA or Air Force. They're the ones who did it again.Ibanez wrote:http://www.cnn.com/2012/06/05/world/asi ... ?hpt=hp_t1
He's wastin' punks out in the desert.
Abu Yahya al-Libi, the No. 2 man in al Qaeda and a longtime public face of the terror network, has been targeted by a drone strike in Pakistan's tribal region, a U.S. official said Tuesday.
Investigators are trying to determine whether al-Libi was injured or killed in the Monday strike, which killed 15 militants and wounded three others, the official said. If a strike did kill al-Libi, it would represent one of the most significant blows against al Qaeda since a team of U.S. Navy SEALs killed Osama bin Laden last year.
Intelligence officials may find out al-Libi's fate only from monitoring websites and chatter, according to the official

I love that Obama is sh!tting all over what the rest of the world thinks. We should have been wasting these people all along. Nothing says "fvck you" like killing bad guys without even the hint if the risk of putting our own people at risk. I love thinking that the guy who wasted Al Libi did so from the comfort of an air conditioned room, and then went to a bar and had a beer, then went home to bang his wife or play with his kids. It is the ultimate "kiss our technological ass" to people that think we somehow cannot reach out and touch them because we are about 800 years ahead of them, and the technology they DO have is ours, anyway.
The only thing that irritates me is the Dbacks of the world that will praise Obama for this, yet at the same time will criticize Bush for Gitmo, waterboarding, rendition, etc. It is nothing more than pure political partisanship without any mind to the fact that it is simply robotic, mindless hypocrisy.

Yeah, but he personally signs off on each kill. If you're going to blame Obama for every little thing that goes wrong in this country (and yes, I realize libs did that with Bush), then you can at least give him a little credit for being an effective CiC.BDKJMU wrote:I don't believe Obama was handling the controls of that drone. That said, I'm 110% behind him on this. However, I wonder if this is not the same thing as Robert E Lee counting socks behind the lines at Petersburg, i.e.; doing what he CAN do in a situation where he can do so little overall. His record is not exactly one that he can run on, particularly on the economy. Look this to be the one aspect of his record that he does try to run on. I think it will backfire, though, for a number of reasons.
These drone strikes have the feel of a Nero fiddling.

As much as I disapprove of Obama's body of work in his first term, he sure made all the "Obama is a weak President" folks STFU.

Re: Obama does it again.
From what I remember, the dems in the 2004 election were arguing against the Iraq war, not the whole anti-terror campaign. What Obama is doing now is completely different than invading a country. This is what Bush should have been doing instead of trying to find a way to legitimize the Iraq invasion.
