Comments From Delaware Athletic Director

Post by 93henfan »

In a statement released by Delaware, UD athletic director Bernard Muir said he and university president Patrick Harker “are leading an internal team that has been engaged in a thorough evaluation of the evolving conference realignments and the implications for our student-athletes and the university.”

Muir would not comment beyond the statement, but The News Journal has learned high-ranking UD officials have at least discussed the possibility of moving the Blue Hens to the FBS.

“Obviously, we approach this process carefully and methodically and are working to appropriately assess all options before arriving at a decision,” Muir said.

“This due diligence process requires time to compile and review historical conference data, assess financial and personnel information, understand NCAA, conference and legal implications as well as appropriate potential transition plans and to make a recommendation to the UD Board of Trustees.”

Speaking of DSU, is this the year that we (UD) are the visitor team in our own stadium for revenue purposes? How f'ing ridiculous. :ohno:

The tone of this announcement seems to be different from JMU's statement.

Nope. If the News Journal and PC lackeys have their way, DSU will still be on the schedule.

And, as 93 notes, we'll probably have to revenue share with them every few years. We'll officially be one of the very few FBS teams that "visits" an FCS team...in own own stadium. :ohno:
These signatures have a 500 character limit?

What if I have more personalities than that?

Sort of like a Jets-Giants thing, right? 8-)

And where's Edgar Johnson when you need him? :-P

Hey, you might be on to something. If we get DSU to hire Edgar as their AD, they'd only ask for a small number of tickets to their Newark home game.

Of course, DSU's peeps would have a cow again if they hired another melanin deficient AD.
