I am of the idea that I have no authority and a majority of this country has no authority to persecute other people simply because they are against a long established (even if unjuslty) accepted norm. No. Fear of homosexuals and their ability to enjoy the same rights as heterosexuals would be irrational. Recognition of deviancies or abnormalities in nature and being ok with them is highly rational.

Hell....marriage as we know it started by a family "buying" their son a wife by giving the "wifes" family a bunch of land/livestock. Wives were nothing but currency.

Arian isn't "normal". If you believe the bible, which clearly he does...God created humans in the Isreal/Pakitsan/Egypt area. Those people are pretty much all brown/tan....not white. White people lack proper pigmentation. Too bad for us, they should stop making sun screen....not the companies fault we don't have proper pigments for the sun. Also, please define normal.....You know, having 6 fingers/toes is the dominate trait...does that make having 5 fingers abnormal? I mean, the only reason we see it has normal is because we've "genetically selected" partners over the years with 5 digits instead of 6.


Blue eyes aren't normal either....For one to have blue eyes both sets of genes have to have all blue eye traits. If even one brown eye trait is present the person will have brown eyes.....thus blue eyes are a mutation and no longer normal. People with blue eyes shouldn't be allowed to have their vision corrected....wait, those are all genetic we need something with a choice.


Left handed people are dysfunctional. They decided to do things with their left hand, knowing full well that every study ever done suggests that 70-90% of the world is right handed. Why can't they just do what everyone else does? Why should they get special treatment? Why should we have to make different baseball/softball gloves for them? I know to be married in a church, you must still go to the state to get a marriage license. Do you see a day when you will have to be married by a state official?

Where I'm going with this is that I can definitely see a day when some level of government will say that for a church official to marry two people and be recognized by the state, that church must be willing to marry any two people. Think that sounds far fetched? How about making a Catholic school provide contraceptive and abortifacients to its employees if it covers anyone for health insurance? The state cares little about the fact that the separation of church and state is a two way street.

Unfortunately, I think it's possible. I really hope it doesn't happen but in this 2-way nanny state culture I could see it happening.

As I and others have said - ideally the state gets out of the marriage business and just recognizes a civil union. I hope they continue to allow the clergy and others (who have at least sent it for a diploma from the back of a matchbook cover) to perform the service but whether that union is considered a "marriage" will be up to the institution that performed the service.

Which is also wrong, and not the law everywhere. If you wish to marry your cousin you should seek to have the law changed. The fact that you can't marry your cousin is no reason to block same sex marriage.

You can have sex without marriage.
You can have marriage without sex.
Gender is a dumb reason in determining who can and can't get married.
